Arizona's New Immigration Law

Dear Ones,

The new Arizona legislation that makes illegal immigration a crime reflects the collision of old values with the new values of love and unity. All practical decisions arise from the spiritual context which gives rise to them, whether the context of love and unity or the context of 'we' and 'them.'

On April 23rd Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer signed into law the most restrictive immigration policy in the nation. This new law makes it a crime to be in the country without documentation and requires all who might be suspected of being here illegally to carry papers with them proving otherwise. The law has been heralded by some as much needed legislation addressing the longstanding issue of Mexican laborers who cross over the Arizona-Mexico border and remain, undocumented, working within the U.S. At the same time it is opposed by civil rights advocates who feel that the new law will lead to stereotyping and racial profiling. Prior to this, police officials were only allowed to investigate someone’s immigration status if they were involved in a crime. Now, immigration status may be investigated on its own terms.

This current debate in Arizona relates to the estimated 460,000 illegal immigrants who live within Arizona’s borders and their effect on the State’s economy as a whole. Though this issue is being addressed from a practical standpoint, it is important to remember that all practical issues are subject to context – the ideological, moral, and spiritual perspective which determines how ‘facts’ will be interpreted and how decisions will be made about them.

The recent Arizona legislation exemplifies the collision of the old with the new – the former exhibiting itself in the current perspective which separates the practical from the spiritual, and the solution of the future holding that the practical must emerge from the spiritual, from the larger perspective of love and unity.

From a spiritual vantage point, any practical solution to any existing problem manifests its ideological or spiritual roots. In this case, the ‘we’ and ‘them’ way of thinking which seeks to exclude certain others because they represent a threat to one’s livelihood is the way of separation. Not just the way of separation in Arizona, but the way of separation anywhere. The spiritual vibration of love/unity is inclusive, not exclusive. It seeks, by virtue of the strength of love that is at its core, to find practical solutions to existing problems that do not exclude and that benefit all. Herein lies the distinctive hallmark of the future, namely, that it excludes no one from benefiting from what belongs to all.

Love recognizes existing issues that need resolution but holds these in the context of the oneness of all. It does not seek to rob people of their individual identities but seeks to hold these identities within a greater whole that resonates with the deeper truth of who one is. As love grows, Mexicans and U.S. citizens are not competitors within a limited economy of resources, but part of the larger family of souls seeking to find solutions to existing problems of livelihood and security.

We are clearly not yet able to hold this perspective as a nation or a world. We are not ready to look at ‘Mexican’ and ‘American’ as labels within a larger framework which we are part of and responsible to. And so in this state of transition, we see forces at work that seek to unify groups into larger wholes, and forces that move in the opposite direction of separating out ‘we’ and ‘them’. The Arizona decision represents such a force of separation, not defined by its view of Mexicans, but defined by its view of oneness and love.

Within any practical decision we must look at the resolutions that might be possible if it were viewed through the eyes of love. Conventional thinking would call this idealism, and it is. However ideas that substitute for ideals pervade the existing structure of thought which gives rise to every practical decision-making process in every situation. Such an idea as ‘I am my brother’s keeper’ is a spiritual and ideological context for making decisions. Similarly, the reverse: ‘I am not my brother’s keeper’ or ‘let them take care of their own’ holds a different ideological and spiritual context.

Love proscribes inclusion if it is not personal love but universal. By its nature, universal love seeks to nurture all, to support all, and does not make distinctions based on self-interest and the interest of the ‘other’. It assumes that the ‘other’ is part of the larger self, and that all needs must be met and can be met.

Here is another place in which context influences policy. The idea that ‘all needs can be met’ is not an economic idea but a spiritual idea. It is founded on the premise that if all seek to manifest God’s love as a primary way of viewing what it means to be human, then ‘all needs will be met’ and the competitive jockeying that has been so much a part of the economic and social history of nations will no longer be needed.

We stand at the cusp of a new way of thinking, out of which new structures, policies, practices, and decisions shall come forth. It has not arrived yet, and the battle between light and darkness, between energies of fear and separation versus energies of love and unity can be seen in many places throughout the world. Nevertheless, within our own hearts, we may hold and uphold a standard that has not yet materialized, and by empowering our thought and the spiritual premise that underlies it, we may do our part to bring the new further into manifestation. The strength of One lies within us as we seek to represent this One to all of life.

Are people born with the gift to access the Akashic Records? I know theoretically anyone can access them, but someone told me that I have the gift for accessing them. Does this mean that some people are more trustworthy than others to access the Records?

Yes, everyone can access the Akashic Records and in fact, everyone does access the Akashic Records. Something happens when you consider the idea of the Akashic Records and the immensity of your Records. All the information from your soul, the immensity of that idea can lead people to believing that accessing their Records must be some kind of extraordinary experience. But in fact, the ways that people access their Akashic Records are often very ordinary.

All of you are contacting your Akashic Records and gathering information from them all the time on a subconscious level. This is the way that you lead yourselves to be in the perfect place at the perfect time. Your subconscious mind is like a radio receiver, constantly taking in information from your Records and combining it with what choices your conscious mind is making and combining those two to lead you to just where you need to be. This is the reason that sometimes you feel an inclination to do something or be somewhere and you cannot quite explain why, but you feel compelled. This is also the reason that sometimes you make the decision to change lanes on the freeway and that lane goes just slow enough to prevent you from getting home in time, which leads you to being in the perfect place at the perfect time.

There are a million small decisions that you make every day that are guided by your subconscious mind and your subconscious mind is guiding you based on what it is gathering from your Akashic Records. Every person does this. It is not possible to be a human being without working using the information in your Records all the time. You would cease to function. It is like the background platform on your computer that enables all the software to run. That connection with your Akashic Records is vital to you maintaining a human life.

You also access your Records very often in a conscious way. The most typical way the consciousness occurs is when whatever is coming through your subconsciousness, comes with enough momentum or enough meaning that it rises up to the surface level and enters your consciousness. It is as if you imagine your subconscious as an ocean and you are sailing along on the top of it, all of your conscious thinking happens there with you on the boat out in the sunlight and just like if you are sailing on the ocean, sometimes things from deep below catch your attention. A shark fin, a whale tail, but also different waves, different objects or the way the color reflects off the water. All of that I like information in your subconscious that is interesting enough or compelling enough that it draws your conscious attention. This is the kind of thing when you actually know you are being compelled to do something but even if you do not have an explanation for why.

This is the reason why instead of mindlessly changing lanes on the freeway, you think to yourself, "I do not know why, but I feel that I need to change lanes on the freeway." It is the kind of thing that often you call intuition. In fact, that is exactly what intuition is. It is the conscious experience of what your subconscious is doing all the time in its connection with your Akashic Records.

If we take that metaphor of the person on the boat in the ocean, you can see more of what your subconsciousness is doing with your Akashic Records by paying more attention to the water. A lot of the techniques that people use to increase their intuition are basically in this metaphor, they are techniques to just draw your attention and help you see better and observe more clearly and keenly what is happening below the surface of your consciousness. Meditation helps you do this, mindfulness exercises help you do this and there are lots of exercises like vivid dreaming where you connect with what is happening in your subconsciousness and therefore gain access to your Records. All people do this all the time. It is not a gift, it is a birthright and you really could not function without it. But then some of you have more specific or particular gifts that lead you to being able to access the Akashic Records more easily or more consciously with less effort. There is a whole set of gifts that could lead to this kind of access and most of these gifts have something to do with your level of awareness. Some of you have an ability to be aware of more of your subconsciousness and this is a gift that can be cultivated. It can be cultivated with a willingness to look more at what is below the surface.

That willingness and cultivation of the gift requires you to get out of your own way. All of you have a barrier set up between your conscious mind and your subconscious mind. That barrier is set up to protect you. It keeps you from being overwhelmed by all of the information in your subconsciousness and it helps you stay focused on what is happening in front of you. It helps you function as a human being in everyday life. That barrier is sometimes removed and sometimes it gets thinner based on what you need to gain from your subconsciousness. Also that barrier can get thicker. There are some ways that you build the barrier to be more opaque and more dense so that you have less contact with your subconsciousness. The things that lead that barrier to be more dense include self-doubt, over-analysis, self-hatred, on the other hand the things that lead the barrier to be thinner, that help you be more consciously aware of your subconsciousness include willingness, suspension of judgment and love.

Accessing the Akashic Records occurs along a kind of spectrum. There is on one end of the spectrum the level at which all people access their Records subconsciously, but without very much conscious effort or acknowledgment at all. On the other end is the active channeling in which a person actually tunes into the full Records themselves and turns their mind over to being a channel to allowing only information from the Records to come through, completely suspending their individual thinking and individual selves. All of you who are striving to access the Akashic Records are essentially walking along that spectrum toward full access and encountering obstacles along the way. All of these obstacles are things inside your minds. Most of the obstacles are composed of self-doubt. Each of you has your own unique setup for how self-doubt exists in your mind. Self-doubt usually has a voice and if you think of self-doubt as being something inside you, sort of like a little monster inside your mind, you can imagine what it is saying and you can start to differentiate that voice of self-doubt from your every day thinking. Some of you have little self-doubt monsters that say, "You will never be good enough." Some of you have little self-doubt monsters that say, "Do you really think you are smart enough for this?" There are thousands of different things that those self-doubt monsters in your minds say to you. It is up to you through your own individual healing process to grapple with those monsters and to cease believing them. That is the journey toward wholeness and it is also the journey toward being able to more fully and consciously being able to access your Akashic Records.

It really is a birthright for all people to be able to access your Records. Some of you have a calling or a purpose that includes accessing the Records or channeling the Records, such as what Jen is doing now. Many more of you do not have a calling to access the Records fully, but your lives would be greatly enhanced by accessing the Records more and more on an everyday basis because that is the very same thing as being in touch with your own divinity. Being connected with spirit through your everyday lives. That is indeed a very useful thing to do.

I have recently had a guided meditation and entered the Akashic Records and had an amazing feeling and experience. Afterward, I have tried to meditate again and could not achieve or get any answers. How can I proceed to become successful every time I visit the Akashic library and talk to my guides?

The answer to this question will be unique to you as an individual and many of you have this question, which is the reason why we are including it in Ask the Keepers. Many of you have this question and the first thing we can say to all of you is that how this is answered specifically will depend on you. It will depend on what version of self-doubt you are working with inside yourself. It will depend on what individual components of your psyche that are standing in your way of trusting yourself enough to allow yourself to see what is there.

The general information we can give for all of you is that the practice of meditation and any guided visualization that leads you to the Akashic Records is simply an exercise to get you out of your own way. At some level you are always in your Akashic library. These exercises simply bring your conscious attention to that place where the rest of you resides in your Akashic library. One of the reasons that it feels so good to be in these meditations is that they bring your conscious awareness home to a place where your soul resides all the time. You are coming home to yourselves in these meditations, so of course it feels good to be there. When you are home with yourself you can completely love yourself and everything is clear. When you try to go back to that place in your mind, sometimes it works beautifully and sometimes it does not. It will depend on everything from how you are feeling that day to what chronic patterns and belief systems you have to heal and get out of your own psyche in order to get there consistently.

What we can tell you is different techniques work for different people and different techniques work at different times. Be willing to try different techniques, do not get attached to or stuck to a single technique or the belief that is the only way for you. At the very same time, we can tell you that all of these techniques require practice. It is just like a yoga practice or any other kind of practice. Some days will go better than others but there is value in doing it every day or every week or on some kind of regular basis. The value is that even on the days when it does not go well, you are still helping to pave the path. It is just like walking the same way along a dirt road. Every time you walk, you create a deeper groove. Even if it does not go well, you have still helped to create a deeper groove on that path and so that the next time that you go along it is easier to find the groove and easier to slip into it. It is a practice.

Many of you fall into the common mistake of hoping for kind of a lightning bolt experience; sort of an earth shattering experience that validates and permanently opens the door for you. That is never the way with human activity. Those lightning bold experiences occur occasionally for everyone but they are never central to the permanent path. They never open a permanent pathway because that would remove you from the process of your life, which requires ups and downs, ins and outs and variation. The process of learning will not go well every time because that would be inhuman.

The best thing you can do to enhance the process of accessing your Akashic Records through any of the techniques that you might have tried, is to have patience and immense love for yourself. The one core principle about the Akashic Records that will help you most is that the Akashic Records resonate in the energy of love. Anything other than love keeps you out of your Records. When you are in love, when you are feeling love, you are always fully in your Records. That may not mean that your conscious mind is seeing information, but you are vibrating in the energy of the Akasha when you are feeling love.

At the very least, if you sit down to meditate and you sit down to try to gain access to your Records and the only thing you manage to do is feel more love and tenderness for yourself, you will have been completely successful for that day's practice. Ultimately the information in the Records matters far less than the love that is generated from the Records and the way you apply that love to yourself and others. Choose the act or the experience of love to be your primary purpose and inevitably over time, you will have fuller, greater, more consistent access to your Records. Indeed, it is your birthright to have both love and the divine information of your soul. (April 2010)

To the Princes and Princesses of the World

Beloveds, let Us hold hands and look into each other's eyes. Our eyes meld. There is only one set of eyes for Us. We could say Our one pair of eyes are two-way like a two-way mirror. I look into your eyes, and I see Myself. You - the seeming you - look into My eyes, and what do you see but also Myself. It is as if you enter into My eyes which have been yours all along. Are you just discovering that?

What I am saying is that your eyes are getting clearer. Your eyes were always My eyes, only they were dimmed. Like a windshield that needs to be cleared, perhaps even with snow on it, your eyes had to be wiped. Your eyes are cleaner now. Your sight is clearer. And, as you know, the tool of sight is your eyes, yet it is your mind you see with, and, so, your mind is clearer. You see better now what you are seeing.

Your mind can have you see the same view in many ways. Sometimes it depends upon your mood whether something you see is beautiful or not. Sometimes it depends upon the angle of your view, in what direction you are looking from and what direction you look at what is in front of you. True sight is always Mine.

So We can say that I am showing you how to see and what angle to see from and what angle to took at what is right in front of you.

The fairy tales have told you this same thing. In Beauty and the Beast, the Beast was a beast, but he was a prince in disguise. Cinderella was a princess, yet she had previously always been mis-seen. The frog looked like a frog. He hopped like a frog, and yet, in reality, the frog was an unrecognized prince.

In the world, the True Identity of all frog-princes is not always discovered. The Cinderellas of the world are not always discovered nor are the beasts of the world always seen in their true colors. Everything is not as it seems.

Worse than that, many seeming frog princes, Cinderellas, and beasts miss out on their own true identities. Their eyes are swept up in the eyes of the world, and they never know who they truly are any more than they portray their true selves to the world.

A fairy tale always tells the story of an individual prince or princess. It is left to you to understand that the specific story represents a universal story.

So identified are you with your body and where you live and how you are frowned at that you do not lift your eyes up high enough to see what is true. This seems to be because you think it is impossible to be more than what you presently see reflected in the glass mirror or reflected in the eyes of the unseeing around you.

You think you are being logical and realistic. Beloveds, where is the logic or realism of thinking that My son or daughter is destined to be a frog or a Cinderella in the ashes or a beast of one kind or another? Common sense has to tell you that you are far more and that others are also far more.

It has to be that you have been wearing dark glasses without realizing it.

Will you realize it now? Will you take off those dark glasses? Will you begin to see with the clear vision of the One Who is talking to you now and Who sees you in your true light?
