Ophelius: “Good morning dear one. I have heard your call and I am here. It is I, Ophelius, and today I would like to speak about doctrines and dogmas. Throughout the long history on Urantia, men have developed belief systems that have had their beginnings based on some truth. Over time, much re-telling, and handwritten copies, have added to, and greatly distorted that truth, knowingly or unknowingly, by those interested to meet their own ends and purposes at the time of the transcription.

“Later followers, and for many generations have interpreted these writings as infallible truth, and have built up very large and complex organizations to venerate and uphold these doctrines, without any investigation into the origins of these writings. Thus, they have become tethered to a belief system that is rife with errors, and which is used to separate themselves from their brothers and sisters, and reject all other spiritual truths, nullifying these as the work of the devil. It becomes a ‘perfect dogma’ in that it produces a completely closed loop, which makes no provision for revision.

“It wasn’t very long ago when the orthodoxy believed that the sun and planets revolved around the earth, and many men of science were excommunicated and tried for heresy for having such contrary beliefs.

“The Father reveals truth to individuals, not to organizations, and men must begin to listen to the voice of their indwelling, which is the highest authority of truth, beauty, love and mercy. The Mystery Monitors (Thought Adjusters) will lead you into all truth, if you would only let go of the conflicts within your mind.

“God is no respecter of persons, and all are equally loved as his children. There are no ‘chosen people.’ All are called to do the will of the Paradise Father, and all will be received and given the opportunity to choose eternal life, and to continue the paradise adventure, provided they achieve fusion with their indwelling Thought Adjusters. There will be many surprised and bewildered persons of orthodoxy who will awaken on the Mansion Worlds to find the very people they fought against so diligently, or who were unconvertible to their creeds, walking freely among them, and apparently none so burning in the pits of some inescapable hell. God’s mercy is greater than man’s ideas of self righteousness, and even the most wicked of men who find themselves in the dark places they have prepared for themselves, will also find the mercy and the means to progress out of that sad condition, and into higher estates.

“You are all little children in the kindergarten of creation. You are not expected to have all the answers and responsibility of eternal consequence in your short life on the worlds of time and space. You were given very simple instructions – to love your God, and to love your neighbor as yourself – to do unto others, as you would have them do to you. Yet man finds ways to put conditions and loopholes into even the simplest of truths.

“Be not the judges of men, but love your brothers and sisters, and find ways to reach out to them in common goals and aspirations. Where there is love in common, the divisions of creed will melt away and reveal the true nature of man’s eternal destiny – one of unity in purpose, to be perfect as the Paradise Father is perfect.

Ophelius: “The message for today is about retrospection – to take a look back and review the past year and acknowledge where you have been, how you have grown, the lessons you have learned, and what areas of your personality you need to work on to move into a new year of new beginnings and fresh starts. This, my friends, should be a healthy evaluation – without self-loathing or criticism – and something you should be completely honest about with the intention of true self-improvement that is not only good for you, but good for those in your life circles. This is also a good time for reviewing goal attainments and setting new goals that will work together to move you forward while you spread the light of love in the world.

“A healthy young tree reaches for the light, stretching its limbs upward and outward to fill every cell in every leaf with nourishing light while waiting in faith on the right amount of rain to sustain its life and foster its growth. So it is with you students on the path – you reach for the light without looking down, and by faith you live in hope and expectancy of greater days ahead where you seek for those goals you have in faith declared to the universe to come into reality. If these goals have not come into reality, as you so desired, then it is healthy to look back in retrospection to re-evaluate and plan for improvement to get you back on track and moving forward again.

“Regrets are futile – you cannot change the past, you can only change the future, and so you must let go of past failures and forgive yourself and others and accept the past as a life lesson and move forward. Moving forward requires taking responsibility for your life and your actions, and only by acknowledging this objectively can you actively change the way you think. Changing the way you think has a transformational effect on everything in your life – your relationships with others and the development of self-awareness – how you see yourself in the world.

“Self-awareness is the key to measuring growth and transforming habitual thinking. Being aware of your faults and failures in a healthy way is necessary to have mastery over the ego and to keep in check those personality flaws that separate you from shining your light in the world. Spending time in meditative contemplation loving the wounded child – the self – and stepping into the role of the wise parent will direct your thoughts toward self-improvement. Asking for help from your guides and guardians, from God or from spirit will allow you to release your fears and live in faith knowing that as you move forward in love and good intent, new opportunities will manifest pointing the way toward your desired goals.

“The ultimate goal, my friends, is to develop a real personal relationship with spirit – to have a greater understanding of God and His Spirit that indwells you – to know that you are a child of the Creator and that you have the gift of eternal life should you accept it. Acknowledging your sonship with God is the end of separation and the beginning of unity with spirit. Unity of spirit fosters brotherhood and goodwill in the world. Discover this unity in retrospection of your imperfections and you will move beyond the self-imposed limitations of your ego and the dysfunctions of your past.

Heavenletter #4417 Even in Desolation, You Reveal Your Significance in This Universe , December 28, 2012

God said:

When I accept you and accept you as My own, My own beautiful blossoming Own, you are Mine, and what is Mine is not to be shaken by what transpires in the world. You are not to be dejected by it nor rejected by it.

By everything you know, something occurred that is not right, not kind, not uplifting. It is not right, and it is not necessary for someone to demean you. Nor is it necessary for you to become unhappy because of someone else's view. When you were a child, you reacted as a child. When you were a child, there may have been someone who didn't want to play with you, and you were crushed. How could it be that someone didn't want to play with you?

Here's what's beautiful: Even in your sense of desolation, you knew that it was not right for you to be turned away. Even in your reaction, you revealed your awareness of your significance in this Universe.

Secure in My love, let not the little slings and arrows of the world pierce you. Let that kind of thing bounce off you.

Someone else's peeve is theirs. It is not meant to become yours. You must not let it become yours.

You know by now that I welcome all into the world. I more than welcome. I bring you here. I do not bring you here to be dismissed. Nor do I bring you here to have your heart worn down. Do not make another's lack of awareness and littleness become yours. Come from a higher place, beloveds. Any dishevelment is not for you to take to heart. It's okay if someone doesn't want to play with you. You have other things to do. You have other things to think about. Do not give a thought to what is, after all, only someone else's thoughts.

Hurt feelings do not belong to you. You are not here to be sensitive about whatever is directed to you. If you are in the path of someone's disparagement, move out of the way. This is how you move up. Certainly, you are not to let someone mow you down.

Would that everyone would regard you as you deserve to be regarded. Best of all is for you to regard yourself as you deserve to be regarded. Hold yourself in My light. I shine My light upon you. Look at Me. Look at My light. Don't see yourself as less because of someone else's lack of sight.

What bothers someone else isn't you. You are not the cause. They may think it's you who bothers them, yet you don't have to think so. Do not measure yourself by someone else's eyesight. All the more reason for you to see from a vaster view. You do not have to be unhappy because someone else is short-sighted. Apparently, you have thought it was.

Now is time for you to leave hurts behind you. Let them lie where they lie. Do not wear a V for victim on your cape.

Someone else's opinion is no more than someone else's opinion. It certainly is not the mark of you. It certainly seems to you like what they may say to you is a mark against them, yet you are not to take it that way either. You have better things to do with your heart and mind.

Do you understand Me? Ignorance is ignorance. Rise above ignorance. Because another is ignorant is no reason for you to embrace ignorance. In the big things you may know better. It seems to be the little things that you get caught up in. Let the little pricks and arrows fall from your heart. Take only Greatness into your heart.
