A Father's Reply to the IRS
============ I love this!!
Note: Sometimes a story comes along that needs no polishing
or enhancement to make it better. This is one of those. It is a real letter submitted to the IRS the midst of 1995s weird
and bizarre denial of dependents, exemptions and credits. The letter speaks for itself.

Dear Sirs: I am responding to your letter denying the deduction for two
of the three dependents I claimed on my 1994 Federal Tax return. Thank you!
I have questioned whether or not these are my children for
years. They are evil and expensive. It's only fair that, since they are minors and no longer my responsibility, the government
should know something about them and what to expect over the next year. Please do not try to reassign them to me next year
and reinstate the deduction. They are yours!
The oldest, Kristen, is now 17. She is brilliant. Ask her!
I suggest you put her to work in your office where she can answer people's questions about their returns. While she has no
formal training, it has not seemed to hamper her mastery of any subject you can name. Taxes should be a breeze. Next
year she is going to college. I think it's wonderful that you will now be responsible for that little expense. While
you mull that over, keep in mind that she has a truck. It doesn't run at the moment, so you have the choice of appropriating
some Department of Defense funds to fix the vehicle,or getting up early to drive her to school.
Kristen also has a boyfriend. Oh joy! While she possesses
all of the wisdom of the universe, her alleged mother and I have felt it best to occasionally remind her of the virtues of
abstinence, or in the face of overwhelming passion, safe sex. This is always uncomfortable, and I am quite relieved you will
be handling this in the future. May I suggest that you reinstate Dr. Jocelyn Elders who had a rather good handle on
the problem.
Patrick is 14. I've had my suspicions about this one. His
eyes are a little closer together than those of normal people. He may be a tax examiner himself one day, if he is not
incarcerated first. In February, I was awakened at three in the morning by a police officer who was bringing Pat home.
He and his friends were TP'ing houses. In the future, would you like him delivered to the local IRS office, or to Ogden, UT?
Kids at 14 will do almost anything on a dare. His hair
is purple. Permanent dye, temporary dye, what's the big deal? Learn to deal with it. You'll have plenty of time, as he is
sitting out a few days of school after instigating a food fight in the cafeteria. I'll take care of filing your phone number
with the vice-principal. Oh yes, he and all of his friends have raging hormones. This is the house of testosterone and it
will be much more peaceful when he lives in your home. DO NOT leave him or his friends unsupervised with girls, explosives,
inflammables, inflatables, vehicles, or telephones. (They find telephones a source of unimaginable amusement. Be sure to lock
out the 900 976 numbers!)
Heather is an alien. She slid through a time warp and appeared
as if by magic one year. I'm sure this one is yours. She is 10 going on 21. She came from a bad trip in the sixties.
She wears tie-dyed clothes, beads, sandals, and hair that looks like Tiny Tim's. Fortunately, you will be raising my taxes
to help off set the pinch of her remedial reading courses. "Hooked On Phonics" is expensive, so the schools dropped it. But
here's the good news! You can buy it yourself for half the amount of the deduction that you are denying me! It's quite
obvious that we were terrible parents (ask the other two).
She cannot speak English. Most people under twenty understand
the curious patois she fashioned out of valley girls/boys in the hood/reggae/
She wears hats backwards, baggy pants, and wants one of her
ears pierced four more times. There is a fascination with tattoos that worries me, but I am sure that you can handle it. Bring
a truck when you come to get her, she sort of "nests" in her room and I think that it would be easier to move the entire thing
than find out what it is really made of.
You denied two of the three exemptions, so it is only fair
that you get to pick which two you will take. I prefer that you take the youngest two, I will still go bankrupt with Kristen's
college, but then I am free! If you take the two oldest, then I still have time for counseling before Heather becomes a teenager.
If you take the two girls, then I won't feel so bad about putting Patrick in a military Academy.
Please let me know of your decision as soon as possible, as
I have already increased the withholding on my W-4 to cover the $395 in additional tax and made a down payment on an
airplane.

Dear Ones,
From darkness into the Light – the whole
world shifts on June 21, the Solstice. In the Light all will find Oneness with the pure Spirit they seek. In the Light dwells
wonder, knowledge and the incredible gift of love which comes from your awareness of the Creator of all that is.
This is the power of the Solstice providing these
reminders through a force of energy that pulls very steadily towards the Source of the Light. The Sun is only a representation
of the awesome power of the One Presence. It is one of life’s greatest metaphors and hails a season of incredible growth
and connection to the earth. During the Summer, it is easier to remember the Light of God and to sense the Presence of the
pulse of life in the planet. Because of the empowerment of the mass awakening in full throttle this year, it is especially
important to soak in the Life Force available during this precious season. Give yourself more time in nature, even if it is
only a city park. These oases offer nurturing to those who need connection to the Earth Mother.
Hug trees without shame! Through their root system,
trees hold a powerful grounding connection that can assist your stability. As the Life Force surges through the tree and empowers
your body with the gift of love and strength, it won’t matter what anyone thinks if they see you. Let the tree know
how much you appreciate its gifts. This powerful communication provides you with a deep earth connection that will give you
strength in your daily life, and allow you to release excess emotional energy that the tree can use for compost. Encourage
the children to give to and receive from the trees around them. It offers them a healthy understanding of the inter-connectedness
of all life.
We offer these reminders now as the northern
hemisphere turns toward the light of the sun. Receive from the holiness of this Light as it banishes the darkness on the earth.
Breathe it into every cell of your being and be transformed. Allow this Light to feed your being and nourish you as the days
begin to shorten in the northern hemisphere and lengthen in the southern. Your imagination is a powerful tool that allows
you to continue to nourish your body with Divine Light. Call this Light through your being on a daily basis and bless the
earth as if flows through you into the earth.
It is a great blessing to receive from the Light.
Let your intention be toward more Peace, Harmony and Love, and the Light will create the energy for these qualities to manifest
in your life. Use the timing of the season to move into active participation in the fulfillment of your dreams as the northern
hemisphere turns toward growth of summer.
As you use the natural flow of the energy available
at the time of Solstice, allow the light of the season to enlighten any dark corners within you, and visualize the world being
blessed by this light. All beings will benefit and peace will be a growing reality to be harvested at Equinox in the autumn.
Soak in the vibrant beauty of summer flowers, and enjoy the healthy fresh produce. Align yourself with the natural cycle
and enjoy the earth’s bounty and the light available on the longest day of the year. It is your gift to receive from
the Source of all Light.

Beloved Lightworkers,
As each day goes by, know that you have successfully
traversed the next step on your journey of Ascension and that you are now filling your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual
and etheric bodies with a greater Light. As this occurs, your physical bodies and emotions, especially, are affected and this
takes its toll upon your energy fields. When this happens, take time out to rest and be good to yourselves. Try to equalize
your thought processes and keep them as neutral as possible, for the moment you engage in a thought of a lower vibration,
it inexorably begins to draw your focus to these lower levels and the dramas taking place around you. Surround yourselves
with the pure White Light often throughout the day and before bedtime, all it takes is stating the intention and it is done.
This week will be one of great import as
more of the great crystals that have lain dormant for millennia become activated once again. There will be Celestial alignments
of great importance and significance and even greater energies, more potent and intense than ever before, will begin to inundate
the atmosphere of Earth and all upon Her. These powerful energies will bring great cleansing and the bringing up of personal
and World karma’s will surface in the lives of all. You, the Lightworkers, have already been prepared to be at the forefront
of this movement and many of you are now ready to move into the next phase, of integration with your Light Body, your Christ
Self.
This will be a very interesting and intense time
for all upon the Earth and indeed, the Earth Herself. Your Light and intentions each day, calling upon the Higher Forces of
Light will aid greatly during the times ahead. As each person is touched by these great and powerful energies, this will initiate
transformations at all levels and much depends upon the awareness level of each recipient of these energies, for the greater
the awareness of what is occurring, the more equilibrium is maintained. Gather together in groups to pool your Light and energies
and surround the atmosphere of Earth in a great circle of Light and send Love into this field so that, by intention, it touches
each and every heart upon the Earth.
Love is the most powerful and mighty force
in existence. Nothing can withstand its transformational abilities, for the heart, once touched by Love, is forever transformed.
It will be challenging for all of you, because once the energy of Love touches every heart, all that does not resonate to
this great power, begins to exit from your Beings and you will be feeling anxiety, stress, tension and extreme tiredness in
the coming days. Hold firm to your Path and constantly remind yourselves that your ARE the Light and that you serve the Light.
Sleep when the need overtakes you and listen to the promptings of your bodies. Drink plenty of water each day and find the
time to sit or walk in Nature as this will help you ground these energies into the crystalline core and keep you and the Earth
stabilized.
Remember to call upon us, we are ever ready to
serve your needs.

I am the one called Simeon, who sat in the temple courtyard
awaiting the arrival of the Christ Child, with his Mother and Father. Think about this. This is an allegory. Think about it
deeply until you feel the meaning of these words. I took the Christ Child in my arms, in fulfillment of a promise made to
me by an angel years before, and then announced I was ready to depart in peace. [Luke 2.25]
I come now because many in your world are awaiting that One,
as well, and I would like you to help me to contact and comfort those dear ones.
By the time we finish our work, you and I, many situations
will seem to be at a ‘boiling point’ or a tipping point. Events will multiply and it will look like complete chaos,
at which point, there will be a literal tipping or boiling over. Think about what happens when a pot of water boils. At first,
mere hints of bubbles begin to arise and then the signs become more and more unmistakable until that full rolling boil inevitably
comes about. If the heat source is not extinguished, a boil-over situation will result, including most likely, some sort of
damage – large or small.
Likewise, when a balance tips, the sudden change of events
can be shocking. Do you not see that dire consequences are in store for you? What can be done? Can such a situation be undone
in time? Because time is short, I come.
How can such a one as I come at a time such as this, when
time is short? How can someone who is perfectly happy and encourages perfect happiness speak of disaster, of dire consequences?
It is only to demonstrate that all is truly well, is truly perfect, no matter the seeming outcome of this current Earth situation.
Why would I say that time is short, when time is a construct of this reality only? Time could only be ‘short’
if time could also be ‘long’! As your song says, “It’s been a ‘long’ time comin’,
but I know change is gonna come!”
Soon, very soon your world will explode. The explosions you
have seen thus far are only the beginning. These will be physical and emotional as well as on more subtle levels. The subtlety
many people are experiencing with the various devices and healing tools is an example and a sign of how you are to look for
the events, the results, the signs – in subtle ways. Some will be overt, but everything has layers of meanings that
are not always apparent to many, at least not immediately.
On subtle levels, things are changing. You will see the outer
condition, the outer event, and you will think the worst. But this is only the beginning of troubles – the worst is
not yet. The worst will only come for those whose consciousness will not allow them to expand into the subtle level necessary
to pass through this time. You, with your spiritual practices, are safe, are protected by your own higher self as it were,
your heights protect you. Lower energies are not able to reach high enough to gain your notice!
Now, to be specific, continue in faith. All things serve the
highest. How can grief be real if it is impossible to lose anything? Everything is yours forever. Amen. Barbara Dutcher, M.A., is a teacher and certified

is a moment outside of time when there is still what I will call a knowing of this incarnation, this lifetime, and then beyond
that, quite quickly as you measure time but it is outside of time, there is a great expansiveness that is felt. It is called
“going to the light,” the expansiveness of the light, where you feel yourself expand in that light. That light
is not separate from you. It is you. It is your light that you are going to, seemingly. You are moving into the knowing remembrance
of your own light.

As a matter of fact, there are matters in life
you do not have to concern yourself with and fuss about. Where do you put your attention? Irritations in life are not to be
your focus. When you focus on what is annoying, you harvest it. Or you mine it. Better to mine for gold, beloveds.
Your garden may have weeds growing in it, yet
let your focus be on the flowers and vegetables you grow. You can curse the weeds if you want, but wouldn't it make more sense
to bless the flowers and vegetables?
Weed the garden, if you must, but be thinking
of the garden and why you planted it. I don't think you planted your garden so that you would have an opportunity to be angry
at the innocent weeds.
If a book you read is not what you want, you
don't have to read it. You also don't have to pan it.
Everything does not have to be to your liking.
Make yourself to your liking. How much do you value complaints? Anyone can be a complainer. It takes no special skill. Do
not be victimized by annoyance. Let not annoyance and irritation be the mainstays of your life. I know for a fact that annoyance
is not your mission in life. I AM.
Being irritated is the line of least resistance.
Sometimes resistance can be a good thing. The point is that I want you to be a good sport in life and in the world. There
are enough irritants. Do not make yourself another irritant. Sometimes it is wise to not express yourself. If you must let
off steam, go to the gym, lift weights, or jog in the park.
This is not a question of whether you are justified
to be irritated. It is a question of whether you are going to jump to the tune of every Tom, Dick, and Harry of irritation.
What do you wish to make the theme of your life? Do you want to be in the Guiness Book of Records as The Most Prolific Fault-finder
in the World? By your deeds and by your word are you known.
If seeing the downside is your hobby, find another
hobby.
How much are irritants going to figure in your
life? You were given life as a gift. It is a worthy idea to appreciate what you find under your tree.
If you find a can of worms, you don't have to
open it. You don't have to tell the world about it.
It is not new advice that sometimes you don't
have to open your mouth. Instead of taking back your words later, keep them to yourself now.
You don't have to gush positivity, and you don't
have to gush negativity either.
Will you today not voice even one complaint?
Remember the expression: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Can you do that, beloveds? I think you
can. I know you can.
Start from a clean slate. Do not carry over old
irritations. Do not make new ones. Be considerate. Someone went to trouble to please you. Can you not give her pleasure in
return? You do not have to tell everything. You can smile and say thank you.
