FIDELITY
Q&A: Thought Adjuster : Mortal Personality Relationship
Prayer: Father
God, thank you for being in our lives. Thank you that we can be in Yours. It makes this existence entirely meaningful. It
gives us hope and strength knowing that it is something real and becoming even more real as time goes by. Having tasted the
delights of Sonship, we rejoice in it and would seek to express this joy in our lives in order that others may see You through
us. Humble us, Father, and enable us to be Your instrument, Your ambassadors of this heavenly kingdom. It is, after all, Your
kingdom in which we delight to be a part. Send us a teacher this evening that will address our soul’s needs and the
interests of the kingdom, one from whom we can learn what we need to know to take forward in our lives. Even so,
Your will be done.
0802-AB Jack here. I’m going to be your emcee here this evening. Not
to say that I’m going to give the lesson but I’m going to greet you and manifest myself until such time as we
get settled and into a semblance of synchronicity. Sometimes it’s an easy step into morontia reality and sometimes it’s
like pole vaunting to get there. There’s no point in hurting ourselves, however, attempting to make strides that are
difficult. The gospel is simple. The kingdom of heaven is within you. It’s very easy to make contact with
divinity. It’s not necessary to stretch yourself into infinity, or to make mountains out of molehills. Just
take a deep breath and recognize your divine connection, the sweet font of truth, beauty and goodness that emits from the
citadel of the spirit which you hold within you in your own soul.
Let me see
if there is a teacher on hand who will come in and address you, now that you have gotten settled into your chair and into
your own psyche, somewhat. One moment.
TOMAS: Good evening. I am
your teacher this evening, initially at least. I may not be the only one but I will step up and address you for
a time. My words to you this evening have to do with fidelity. It would seem it takes some time
for fidelity to become second nature to you and, to be sure, there are more than one definition for fidelity, one of which
has to do with loyalty and the other you might understand, you technological types, as clarity, a quality of purity that rules
out static and interference. Essentially they are one and the same, and yet it can be seen – it: fidelity
– can be seen perhaps as objective and/or subjective, personal / impersonal, depending on how you choose to use it.
I would encourage
you to think in terms of your own fidelity, your own fine-tuning, as it were, with your own God fragment, with your own spiritual
nature, for once that is established you will be able to better hear, feel, and perceive clarity and purity in tonal quality
with your myriad other relationships such as spousal, partnership, parental, associative and otherwise. Relationships
are going to maintain, generally speaking, a certain amount of static simply because so few people are on the save wave-length
and it takes time to fine-tune your instruments to harmonize. As such, there is, generally speaking, a cacophony of noise
that dominates even the most congenial groups of people. Simply because you are all so busy living your own lives
and finding your own way and presuming upon so many things, it is hard to find that quality of fidelity that would be the
ideal.
Yes, of course, this is one of the reasons why it is helpful to get together in person, to have conferences, reunions,
gatherings of one sort or another because in that the Thought Adjuster has an opportunity to participate up-close-and-personal,
such that, even if you are unable to communicate clearly and with fidelity your thoughts and feelings to your friends and
your associates, the presence of the Adjuster is able to override much of these difficulties so that you can simply sit and
look into each other’s eyes and it seems that vast amounts of wisdom and experience, empathy, compassion, pathos and
passion pass between you, and indeed it does.
And indeed
these are priceless moments, but in the general routine of life, those moments are rare because there are so many other things
calling for your attention, demanding your attention, requiring your attention, and these distractions tend to draw you from
your inherent fidelity with your own Source, sometimes to the point where you wonder what happened to it. Well,
those of you who are somewhat familiar with the spiritual way of life recognize that that connection can be made, resumed,
in seconds. Simply by consciously choosing to set aside all distraction and going direct to the Source, that fidelity is easily
gotten and is quick to supply the comfort and strength you need, inasmuch as wandering around in the world with its many distractions
and demands will drain you, and this will give way to weakened frequency, static on the line, as it were.
You who read
the UP will recall that in terms of virtues, fidelity is the one which the Master most admired, and it is surmised that this
is intended for the marital relationship, the loyalty that is shown between a man and a woman in the mutual embrace of matrimony,
as is set forth in the papers as established by the relationship between Michael and the Divine Minister. That
ideal certainly reflects the requisite fidelity. Their commitment to one another enables their universe/ our universe,
to be upheld. And so, fidelity is indeed critical to the maintenance not only of your civilization but cosmic civilization
itself.
And there is
not one of us that does not long to aspire to experience that kind of fidelity and, in failing to attain it with a spouse,
will find it with another. Although it may be a lesser connection, it will be the best that can be and thus will serve the
need at the time, for there are ideals that cannot be met. That does not mean that they are not striven for. And it does not
mean that the ideals that we do attain, while falling short of the end goal, are not also worthy of celebration and acclaim.
And so we honor fidelity, understanding that it is the highest and best we can do, the highest and best we can attain, given
our circumstances, given our limitations, mortal or otherwise.
The purity
and clarity of that which we seek will be heard as we listen to the sanctity of our own soul in harmony with that oversoul
which resides with us in the citadel of the spirit so that we can enjoy peace -- the peace that passes all understanding --
whether others understand it or not.
I bow to the fidelity in you that you have forged, that you uphold, and that you sanctify, even
as I regret sometimes not understanding it.
The good news
is I am not the judge. It is not required that I understand you or that you understand others. It is only suggested that we
try to understand others so that we can have an idea of their motivations, and when you understand what these qualities such
as the virtue of fidelity means and represents to you, you can and will be able to understand what it means to others –
if, of course, you don’t feel yours is so superior as to not allow for the finest and best to be proffered by and through
and from others.
This little lesson on fidelity is intended to help you comprehend more about the nature of our
God who is no respecter of persons, who understands that fidelity is something that we aspire to have, not something that
is inherent. It is one of the reasons Jesus urges us to love the mortal. It is easy to love the God indwelling,
not so easy to love unlovely mankind. But the more you understand of the human nature, the more you will appreciate the effort
it takes to stand upright and proceed with the maintenance of civilization, the call of duty, the wonder of adventure, the
lure of destiny, and the pursuit of happiness with some degree of success.
I trust I have
succeeded in setting forth my lesson. In any case, it has been a pleasure to spend some time with you. I always
enjoy these occasions of reaching into the deep mind and drawing forth that living water which refreshes us and restores us
all. I will return you to your host. Amen and farewell.
0802-AB JACK
is back. It’s always good to hear from Teacher Tomas, professorial as always. Indeed, there are many here
this evening, and yet I will not pass the mic around unless and until I have a reason to. Let’s take this opportunity
now to stretch a little, as Teacher Merium would say, to open the windows of your mind and let some fresh air in, fluff up
your pillows and come forth. Are there questions? Have you an interesting situation in your life that causes you
to seek counsel? Or any event that wants telling? The floor is yours. Open the gate and come through. Press *6 on your telephone
and that will open the gate. Greetings.
Eva: Hi,
Jack. This is Eva. Hi, Gerdean. Greetings all.
JACK: Greetings
Eva.
Eva: Tomas said it was only required that we try to understand, not that we do understand. That’s
priceless. We have a big job ahead of us and it’s good to appreciate our fellows’ efforts.
I have a two-part
question, Jack. Very briefly, does the indwelling Adjuster have expectations of us, of our vocation or avocation, how we are
most to help, as a parent might on this planet, as we go about learning all our lessons? That’s my first question. The
second is, is there a part of us in the citadel of the spirit, to use Tomas’ beautiful phrase, that makes an agreement
with the God fragment before coming here?
JACK: You must forgive me. I
am not qualified to answer either of those questions, inasmuch as I am not indwelt by a God fragment. I am going to have to
defer to a different Teacher here. One moment, I will see who opts to come forward in response to your question. (Pause)
DANIEL: I
am Daniel, Teacher Daniel. I will handle your questions, but you will have to repeat them again for my benefit, if you will
please.
Eva: Certainly. Thank you, Daniel. I have a two-parter. Does the
Indwelling Fragment have certain expectations of us on how we are to be of most help on this planet, like a doting parent
might, as we go about doing what we are here to do, in other words learning our lessons, but of course being of service; and
part two, is there a part of us in the citadel of the spirit that makes a previous agreement with the God-fragment to do such-and-such?
Do we have a mission before coming here? And I thank you in advance.
DANIEL: Thank
you for your question. Let me address the first part first. No, the Thought Adjuster has no expectations. There
is a plan for you, for each of you, but you are not required to follow that plan. It would be nice if you did, but if you
don’t you may be assured that God will deal with that. The Adjuster does not have expectations. You can rest easy on
that count. It is not standing back having expectations for you to do one thing or another. It has no idea what you will do
in spite of the fact that it has studied you, your cultural inheritance, your DNA and all manner of things about you. It could
be said to have an anticipation but it always will depend upon your choices and it cannot interfere with your choices, and
so it would be erroneous to have expectations.
The second
question asks whether or not you have an arrangement with your Adjuster that was made prior to your arrival here. This
is in the mystery. We have discussed this, the Teachers and I and others, and the consensus is no, there is no
agreement, no arrangement made between the Adjuster and the personality. The personality is registered as having arrived –
registered by the Universal Census Director – at the time of your birth, and what has been programmed into that personality
prior to its being registered as existent is a mystery. If it existed on high and arranged its life path in concert with the
intended Adjuster, the betrothal well may have begun back then, but we do not know and for many reasons do not suspect that
this would be the case primarily because the Adjusters are housed in their own area, away from other areas and where personalities
are stored prior to being manifested in the mortal such as yourself, is indeed in the mystery.
We tend to
think personality did not exist until it is registered, at least not in any meaningful way, for the plan is that the personality
of the mortal is in fact and in truth born here on the planet of origin, and is destined ultimately to fuse with the indwelling
adjuster upon culminating a series of adaptations and adjustments that render the personality suitable for immortality.
The Adjuster
is willing to go to any length to assist the personality in this destiny, and so it does not have expectations, but it has
hope, of course. If you do not – in “you” I mean “one” – if a mortal does not opt to follow
through with the plan, it is not held to be the fault of the Adjuster, but rather the choice of the mortal or to be more accurate,
the failure to choose on the part of the mortal to be adjusted sufficiently that the God Fragment was able to function therein. The
Adjuster certainly has a goal in mind and approaches the assignment of indwelling with every high hope of succeeding, but
they do not have expectations and it is not conclusive in any way that an arrangement was made before the birth of the mortal
between the personality and the Adjuster as to their mutual destiny. Is that helpful?
Eva: Yes! Thank
you, Daniel. That leads me to another quick question. What happens to the unborn children when their personality
is not even registered on this planet and their life is stricken as a fetus?
DANIEL: Just
as Adjusters return to Divinington to await further assignment to another mortal, the unborn, the potential life unborn, is
given an opportunity to be reinstated elsewhere. The personality may be born in another parent situation modified, of course,
by the DNA and circumstances of its new opportunity, but you may be assured that if this is the case at all, it is entirely
pre-conscious. It only addresses the fact that life is continual, and once life is started, it does not end. All potential
becomes actual one way or another.
Eva: Thank you! That clarifies that. Thank you very much, Daniel.
DANIEL: You
are welcome. I understand that some of these questions are difficult for you to hear. In my mortal life I was a
doctor, a physician, and I do understand how terribly personal these matters are to you each. “What happened
to me in the womb?” is a question that all children wonder when they ask “Where do I come from?” Sometimes
they are not asking about the physical, they are asking about the metaphysical, and yet parents overlook that aspect of the
child’s question and go direct to the facts of the matter. It is a wonderful opportunity to begin to edify
the child as to their place in the universe.
Eva: That’s wonderful
insight. Yes. The child is asking for more than just the physical aspect.
DANIEL: In
fact, to answer the child with just a biological lecture on the sperm and the egg is in some way a brutal lesson, too corporeal
for a young consciousness to handle, whereas a more ethereal response might serve to answer the child’s question about
his or her reality. It is also unfortunate that so many parents simply answer that in ways that negate the intelligence of
the child’s question, but many parents are not up to the challenge of parenting, and that is the case on many worlds,
not just this one. Is there anything else?
Eva: Thank you very much.
DANIEL: Thank
you, Eva. Thank you, Jack. Farewell.
0802-AB Jack’s
back, just in time to call it a day, it would seem. The Teachers have amused us all evening! Thank you for your questions.
They are the stuff of life and certainly the substance of these sessions. Is there anything else before w e go?
(Pause)
Well, let me just say this about that, then. There are many prayers going on in the atmosphere. We can see the prayer
energy emanating from you like a heat wave, sometimes you are absolutely buzzing with prayer energy and it is heartwarming
to see this. We have worked for many centuries on this planet to see these signs of radiant faith and you provide us much
happiness by your active involvement in your religious life. We will add to your prayers our own prayer energy,
for Ashley’s baby and for the many transitions that are taking place, the departures for Mansonia. These changes, these
transitions, these passages from one plane of existence to another are seen as monumental events, and indeed they are. They
are triumphs of creation, each transition -- be it into the physical life or into the morontia life -- represents a major
step in the march of ages, in the ascension of life as it is lived throughout all the universes of time and space. These events
that are so monumental are also the musical notes, the millions of musical notes that are played daily and that make up the
symphony of the spheres, to which the angels sing, “Glory Hallelujah! Arise and rejoice. He is risen, and so are we.” Later!
