Subject: “A Lesson on Rest and the Mind.”
Received by Lytske.
The Beloved One: “Rest represents training of the mind
to the highest degree. Anyone, who has learned to control his or her mind, can truly become a master in this material life,
because to control one’s mind is the most difficult thing to do when it is filled with worry and anxiety. Anyone can
be at rest in a blissful attitude and state of mind when everything in life ‘rolls on’ without upsets. However,
when the mind goes through a period of negative or disturbing thoughts, which make relaxing difficult, it becomes expedient
to call on celestial help, so you don’t have to resort to medication or other supposed relaxing substances. The most
sincere and honest way is to succeed in your mortal estate without having to resort to artificial means to achieve the desired
result.
“There is so much ‘dishonesty’ in the inducement
of relaxation that people will use anything that relaxes them, not realizing that they give their power away to some foreign
substance. It is far more ‘honest’ to search the inner self and see what can be done to improve one’s negative
habits and in this manner become more aware of the areas one needs to work on in order to gain mastery over the self. Self-discipline
is often looked upon as hard work, and people think that they can become perfect without it. There are those, who are completely
happy with their negative habits, mainly because they do not know that they are actually indulging in them, and that things
can be done very much differently.
“Sooner or later, everyone will get a 'wake-up call'
in one form or another. However, many will not heed this call because of indolence and stubbornness. Humans often do not want
to change their erring ways, and so they miss out on becoming earnest co-creators with the eternal Creator God. In this way
they also miss out on the great gift of being truly alive and setting out to correct themselves where needed. There is not
a person living today, who does not have some self-corrections to make. It is very easy to notice someone’s perceived
mistakes, and forgetting to work on the self, by overlooking the flaws of your ‘inner environment’. In order to
gain the inner peace and soul-rest, which is the ultimate goal in life, it is necessary, and quite a full-time job to keep
your impulses under control.
“Therefore, I desire to bring this concept of inner
rest to your attention. It will be so much easier to attain a restful sleep without your having to worry about matters which
may never materialize. Place your hope and trust in God, for this will strengthen your faith enormously. It is as simple as
that, even though this is yet so difficult to attain, because this method of calming the mind with earnest perseverance has
rarely been practiced. I counsel you to place all your worries and disturbing thoughts into the hands of God, whenever they
arise, especially during the hours of sleep as you start worrying, so you are robbed of a restful sleep. It is so simple,
to immediately go into a silent prayer, or seek the Stillness within, so you can overcome this tendency of solving the seemingly
unsolvable, which is better done in the waking hours when you can do something about it. Think about this and try My suggestion.
I guarantee you that this works.”
