Machiventa: “Even though you have no idea what kind of message will be forthcoming, you trust the Voice who ‘commands’ you to put the fingers to the keyboard. For all you know, this might only be a training exercise, for that is truly what it is. It will be a broadening and intensifying of your listening skills and hopefully entice those who might chance to read this to likewise enrich their minds.

“You simply have no idea how blessed you were to be training yourself, unaware of holding blessed conversations with the Inner Voice from that Gift from God, so lovingly bestowed upon you when you were of a tender age and when you showed a readiness therefore. That you needed ‘off-worldly’ help in order to grow up with a semblance of balance. So many children on this backward planet have a less-than-ideal upbringing from their parents and likewise suffered an uneasy, troubled and insecure childhood!

“Celestial plans are under way to inspire and instill in those willing to listen better ways of living. And the best way to start is to help the little ones survive their childhood while inspiring them to become independent beings with a mind of their own.

“Overseeing this from the celestial realm is no easy task as children when very young and impressionable are already exposed to a variety of electronic gadgets and toys. It would be far better if simple toys were included to help develop the creative part of their brains. They do not need to be entertained by many gadgets. They need peace around them to develop their brains to think.

“Children are born with curiosity and creative abilities. If only you will observe them, you will see what next they will get into with their inventiveness. Their free will can be guided in positive streams of thought, rather than be bombarded with do’s and don’ts. Every human has been gifted with free will and the sooner they learn to use that tremendous gift to choose responsibly, the better choices will be made.

“The “thinking cap” needs to be solidly in place so they will grow up to become responsible adults who have early learned that causes always have an effect. It is mandatory that children learn to think things through before acting or even acting out.

“Much needs to be remedied on this planet and I will suggest that successful responsible parenthood is a school of learning on its own. Ideally there ought to be gatherings of older parents to instruct younger parents in community neighborhoods to help and discuss with younger parents issues and how to handle difficult situations. Parenting classes even before a child is born will prove to be very fruitful. Knowing that there is somewhere a volunteer group to turn to — to know that there is someone to call on.

“Truly, the mental state of the humans on this planet can be exponentially improved when more thought and positive effort is given to the raising of the young ones who represent the future of the planet. What will you teach them? War or Peace?”

God said:

Do you file yourself into a compartment and give yourself a report card before you go to bed at night? No longer file a report on yourself. You are not to be an appraiser of yourself.

It’s bad enough when the world sizes you up and finds you wanting. You are not meant to spy on yourself and tell tales on yourself.

You may be indiscernible to the world. In the world, you may need a make-over. In the world, you may be sized up right and left. To yourself, be a friend who likes you. Why assess yourself as if you were an auditor who must latch onto something?

It is your nature to grow. You will grow and thrive better without self-criticism. You do not need to caution yourself. What you need is to love yourself as if you were a growing flower in an oasis even you may be in a desert.

What happens too often is you put yourself in a prison cell and order yourself to grow to perfection. You find fault and whip yourself. You try to beat fault out of you.

Honor yourself instead. Find the good you did today and never mind anymore whatever chagrin you may feel because you find yourself imperfect. I tell you that you thrive every day. You make it every day. Whatever labor or standard you give yourself, no matter how high you lift the rope you give to yourself to jump over, no matter how many times you miss and trip and fall, you make it to the end. Let bedtime not be a time of self-recrimination. This is a time for approval. Put that idea in your pipe, and smoke it.

Fall asleep with kindly words you give to yourself. Is this a novel idea, the idea of befriending yourself and not beating yourself up?

Will you try it?

You don’t need a hair-shirt. You don’t need to remind yourself of fault. Remind yourself of the good you did today. Remind yourself of all the energy you gave to today. Remind yourself that you are a Being of Joy. This is your natural state. No longer track your failings. Take yourself with a grain of salt and find that for which you can pat yourself on your back.

I swear to you that you accomplished good today. You won your life today. You matriculated through life today. You were not held back. You made it!

You woke up this morning. You got out of bed. You took a shower and brushed your teeth. You grabbed a bite. You made it out the door. You started your car and drove to work. Or you walked to work. Or you worked in your house, or you caught your bus on time. You greeted the bus driver. You arrived at work. You said hello to everyone in passing. You got to work. You got some work done. You went to lunch. You smiled at some people. You made conversation, or perhaps you were silent. Nothing wrong with that.

This is the conclusion you must come to. You put in a good day. You aren’t so shabby as you sometimes think you are. You may have gotten through some storms. Well, you got through them. Now you reach home. Welcome yourself. And welcome those who greet you. Consider you had a day well-done.

Perhaps you wanted to be made royalty today, and, okay, it didn’t happen, so what? You didn’t win the lottery today, so what? What was so serious that it had to happen today, and if it didn’t, why carry the idea that you failed, or worse yet, that I failed you?

This is a great day you had today. You made it! Congratulate yourself.

You will wake up tomorrow with greater energy. Another great day is coming around the corner. Your day today is not meant to be a proving ground. It is simply a place for you to live in without qualms. Will you do this for Me?

Grace Purifies the Heart
Behold the Lord's grace in every inch of his creation. On a hot summer day you enjoy the delicious sweet juice of grapes, cucumber, oranges and pomegranates and the cool Ganges water of Rishikesh and Hardwar. This is the Lord's grace. When you suffer from a serious ailment you get immediate relief and cure from herbs - this is the Lord's grace. When you walk in the dark night, the stars twinkle and throw light on your path - this is the Lord's grace. When you are unable to bear extreme pain you become unconscious - this is the Lord's grace. When the weather is sultry, a gentle breeze springs up and refreshes you - this is the Lord's grace.
The subtle forms of lust, anger, egoism, pride, etc., can only be totally destroyed through the grace of the Lord. However hard you may strive and do sadhana (spiritual practice), these subtle forms cannot be eradicated through your sadhana alone. Only the Lord's grace completely purifies your heart.
It is the Lord's grace only that stirs the aspirants to do right exertion. But do not sit idle and say: "Oh the Lord's grace will do everything for me, why should I do sadhana?" This is wrong philosophy. God helps those who help themselves. God's grace will only descend on those persons who exert themselves. You cannot expect the Lord to do self-surrender for you. Be up and doing. Strive. Plod. Persevere. The Lord will shower his grace upon you.

It is the grace of the Lord that gives rise to sincere satsankalpa (good and true thoughts and pure resolves). You can be transformed in the twinkling of an eye. One moment you may be groping in the darkness, the next moment you can attain illumination.
There is an ignition point of the soul. When it is connected, man is transformed. His life is turned from its former worldly ways into a new divine life. He is awakened spiritually.
This serenity will deepen into unshakeable peace amidst all the troubles and difficulties of life. Then only insight and intuition will dawn. Then only you will attain wisdom, perfection and freedom.
