Heavenletter #5226 See an Opportunity Right Before You, March 17, 2015

God said:

There isn’t much that I haven’t already said. There isn’t all that much that life hasn’t already taught you. But, ah, the distance between the mind and the living of what you learn and gain insights to.

Technically, you already know enough. You know better than to lose your cool, yet you lose your cool. You know better than to try to control life and others. You really do. And, yet, here you are, perhaps controlling and bossing others around all over the place.

We come back to letting go. We come back to finding yourself. We come back to letting ego go. We come back to forgetting. You haven’t forgotten your ego personality, and so you cling to what the world says and does and convinces you to do.

You are not someone who would deliberately give lip service to the idea of giving love and not owning others, and yet, that’s what you may find yourself doing. You may feel a preponderance of your due place in the world being dishonored, and honor and its friend ego become supremely important, and so you throw your cool out the window for ego’s sake.

There is so much to let go of. There is so much for you to let go of because you fear giving up something valuable to you, even as your little ego and disputed honor and so on aren’t worth much.

Others may say you have to defend yourself. Beloveds, you have to get out of the ego mode. The ego mode tells you, among other things, that you have to keep your place in the world. Of course, you have been taught one way or another to put yourself above all. Not so often have you been told to put love first. You are not disavowing yourself to put love first. You are not disavowing yourself to give someone understanding and a kindness even if you feel you have not been given full credit. To be kind and gentle and not take offense is a great gift you have. You are given this great gift so you can give it. Ego is nothing much. Make your decisions without ego’s coaching.

Your being generous is not a production. It is not a performance. You are not being a Great Person in order to show others how great someone can be. You are not being charitable in order to be considered charitable. You are not setting out to be a good example for others. You are being true to yourself.

I don’t make you Kindness personified. I make you a humble person who sees an opportunity to help someone from your heart and not from duty. You have been blessed, and blessings are to be passed on. We are speaking of a natural process of life. You are not a do-gooder. You are someone who saw a little thing you could do. It is not about you at all. You are not a great benefactor. You are a simple human being who saw something to do. Just as you see to pick up a piece of litter, you see someone before you that you can help even if it is only to the extent of not losing your cool.

You do not carry the weight of the world, yet you are a brother. Maybe you can’t be your brother’s keeper, yet you can be a brother.

You are not a boy scout, yet you can see something to be done, and you can do it in much the same offhand way as you would hail a cab. If you live in New York and you want a cab, you put your hand out.

Whether you live in New York or in a small town, We are talking about putting your hand out.

If there is slippery ice in front of your house, you put sand on it. Maybe, while you are at it, you will throw some sand on your neighbor’s sidewalk.

Now, there’s nothing shady about feeling good about yourself when you go to bed at night. It is good to feel good about yourself, yet in giving a kindness, your purpose is beyond yourself. It is for you, yet you don’t do it for you. You do it for what is referred to as another, and, naturally, light falls on you. Okay, smile at yourself just as you give a smile to another.

Yogasara-Upanishad Mantra - 11 (Continued)
Dharana (concentration) is fixing the mind on an idea or a point or object either internal or external
Notes and Commentary
You can concentrate internally on any of the seven plexus or chakras or centres of spiritual energy, or at the tip of the nose, or tip of the tongue or externally on the picture of any devata (deity), Hari, Hara, Krishna or Devi. You can concentrate on the tick-tick sound of a watch or the flame of a candle, or on a black point on a wall, or on a pencil or rose flower or any pleasing object. This is concrete concentration. There can be no concentration without something upon which the mind may rest. The mind can be fixed easily on a pleasing object such as jasmine flower, mango, orange or a loving friend. It is difficult to fix the mind in the beginning on any object which it dislikes such as faecal matter, cobra, enemy, ugly face, etc. Practise concentration till the mind is well established on the object of concentration. When the mind runs away from the object of concentration, bring it back again and again to the object. Lord Krishna says: "As often as the wavering and unsteady mind goes forth, so often reining it in, let him bring it under the control of the self." (Gita Ch. VI - 26.)
If you want to increase your power of concentration you will have to reduce your worldly activities. You will have to observe mauna (vow of silence) for two hours daily. A man whose mind is filled with passion and all sorts of fantastic desires can hardly concentrate on any object even for a second. His mind will be oscillating like a balloon. Regulate and master the breath. Subdue the senses and then fix the mind on any pleasing object. Associate the ideas of holiness and purity with the object.
You can concentrate on the space between the two eyebrows (trikuti). You can concentrate on the mystic sounds (anahata dhvani) that you hear from your right ear. You can concentrate on Om picture. The picture of Lord Krishna with flute in hand and the picture of Lord Vishnu with conch, discus, mace and lotus are very good for concentration. You can concentrate on the picture of your guru or any saint also. Vedantins try to fix the mind on Atman, the inner Self. This is their dharana.
Dharana is the sixth stage or limb of ashtanga yoga or raja yoga of Patanjali Maharshi. In dharana you will have only one vritti or wave in the mind-lake. The mind assumes the form of only one object. All other operations of the mind are suspended or stopped. He who can practise real concentration for half or one hour will have tremendous psychic powers. His 'will' also will be very powerful.

When we can’t forgive ourselves we can’t forgive someone else. And when we can’t forgive someone else we can’t forgive ourselves because we are all one and connected at source. There is a disconnect between the ability to forgive. When we are separate from ourselves, we don’t even feel like we can forgive ourselves because we are separate. When we are separate, we can’t forgive. When we are aligned with the divine we can forgive. And we can’t align ourselves to the divine until we forgive ourselves. And we don’t know how to forgive ourselves when we’re separate because we look at the divine as the part of us or part of the all who is the part that can forgive.

So when we are separate from ourselves, we know we’re separate from the divine within. We can’t forgive ourselves because we are separate but until we forgive ourselves we can align again with the divine. So it’s the idea of catch 22. So it has to be a choice to forgive. It’s not a place of justifying the forgiveness because you can’t justify an error. So because you can’t justify an error, you can’t justify a forgiveness.

So it’s just has to be a letting go and a return home and aligning with the divine because there really isn’t nothing to forgive because you really can’t forgive something you can’t justify. So it’s just a choice, you forgive and align with the divine. So in each moment that you are separate and each moment you are separate is when you are in a place of none forgiveness. So when you notice you can’t forgive, you also must notice that you are separate and then the only choice you have actually the only choice that really make sense is to let go of the separation.

The cause of the separation and to again align with the divine by just choosing to forgive yourself and others for the separation. And whatever attached itself to that separation because that initial separation took a path of  all sorts of scenarios that ultimately need to be forgiven but if you choose to just forgive and realign to the divine it is what it is you are aligned with the divine and all is forgiven. So it’s always about returning to the source the divine which is within your heart and in doing so all is forgiven.

So as soon as you align with the divine you forgive. You have forgiven yourself and all others and the sooner you can do that the faster forgiveness takes place. So the non-forgiveness is in the separation and forgiveness takes place when you’re aligned with the divine. So by aligning with the divine you are choosing to forgive. And you’re letting go of the separation as well as the cause of separation. So neither is necessary any longer as you are aligned with the divine. So it’s always about returning to source.

Aligning with the source, the divine within. And you just go there and then it’s all forgiven. And everything is restored to balance. So let me see, hold on let me just check. When you notice that you are going into a memory, a situation where you are troubled you know you are separate. You can forgive yourself for choosing a memory and a separate moment. And then choose in that moment to realigned with the divine. And then  you are restored balance.

So we’ll clear with the cause of you separating yourself going outside of yourself and attaching yourself to memory instead of being aligned with the divine within. And then again when you aligned with the divine within you are restored to balance and everything is fine again. So it’s always a moment by moment situation and this is a memory I have to forgive self and return to center, return to the divine within.

And then everything is fine. And then you stay there and then all of a sudden you think you have a memory and then you separate and then you go oops I did it again. I need to forgive and realigned with the divine. So it’s  moment by moment situation in restoring yourself to wholeness which is what happens when you are aligned with the divine within. So I’ll look again and see.

You are in a place of feeling like you have to judge yourself or others. You can’t come from a place of forgiveness. So you have to choose in each moment to come from a place of forgiveness that divine place within that is all forgiving or you come from a place of the intellect where you feel you need to judge. The judgment comes from your intellect because a judgment needs to be weight. You either know which is what comes from the divine within. And that’s an all knowing place. The all knowing does not need to judge, it’s just knows.

So it is the intellect that thinks that needs to way and needs to judge. So all judgment comes from ego. And the ego ways. So when you look at the judgment and you look at those scales. All scales in a court of law for example in the legal system is coming from a place of ego. Only the ego can judge. Divinity does not judge because the divine does not need to judge. The divine knows. There’s nothing to weigh. There’s nothing to decide. It’s just knows.

So it’s the ego that is sitting in judgment. And it’s the ego that has to weigh right or wrong, good or bad. The divinity within always knows what the truth is so that divinity within doesn’t have to think about what’s right or what’s wrong. The divine within already knows. So when you let go of all judgment of self and or others you will be in a place of just knowing, you’re in that pure space of being and you will also not be judged because it’s only the ego that can judge.

The ego is a self-created aspect of self from which to know itself and it’s in that place that analysis occurs as to determine are you good or bad and in that it has to compare itself to others. And then who else are you comparing yourself too. If you knew who you are which is a divine being you would also know that they too are divine beings. So how can you compare yourself to another divine being because all divine beings are divine. So what’s to judge? It’s divine or it’s not divine.

If you are operating from the ego you’re not operating from a place of being divine. So judgment can occur out of a place of not knowing who you are or who the other is. How does someone judge another when they don’t know who they are and they don’t know who they are or the other. So how can anyone judge. So when you let go of judgment and that ego part of you. You also will not be judged because then the judgment no longer lies within yourself. So it doesn’t attract judgment to you. So by letting go of all judgment, then you can be aligned with the divine.

When you are coming from a place of judgment of self and or others you are not aligned with the divine. So when you realize you are in judgment you know you are separate from the divine. And you can let go of that judgment forgive self for the judgment and realign with the divine. And it you are being judged you know you have a judgment about self within. Often what people do is they are judging their worth. So how can an ego based individual sit in judgment of it’s worth. When it’s worth at essence is divine. So when you give up the judgment you also give up the issues of self-worth because how could one divine being be worth more than another divine being when everything and everyone is divine.

Noting can have more worth than you and you can’t have more worth than another. So how can you compare yourself to another or compare someone else to another because all are a part of the divine. So when you live in the ego you are then coming to a place of comparing one thing to another and that’s where  you got into trouble in the  first place is thinking there’s anything better than self. The self that resides within the divine within. You can’t compare that to anything and when you go outside of yourself to the ego to try to determine that there might be something better outside of the self.

In the act of separating, you end up loosing the power of the being that you are when you are align with the divine. So it’s always the self that always goes back to the self and there is only the self, and the self at essence is always divine. So when you give up your judgments of being separate from the divine or any thought that being separate from the divine all that other stuff falls away. So you are not, it’s like when you accept you are a divine being and you let the rest of it fall away you will not be judged. Because there’s nothing left to judge.

You can’t judge what is divine. Divinity is just what is. It’s our essence, it’s our purity within. So all the rest that comes up or you have fear of judgment is all separation, it’s all separation from source. So if you think of if you recognize, you are in the place of judgment or having a fear of judgment you recognize, this is memory I need to let go of that and choose realign myself with the divine and then your whole and complete again and there’s no place to be judge if you’re whole and complete. I know it sounds simple and then the way it is but we all got tripped up when we think.

The thinking is what gets us into trouble and if we can stop thinking so much, we can be align much easier. But if you notice those judgments or memories or thinking come up, the part of you that you need to align with is okay. You think this is where your conscious comes in. You recognize, I separated myself I need to return to the divine within. Go home and let go of what was just an ego based experience of thinking. And let the rest of that go so you can be restored to that place of all knowing, purity, balance, and in that state of wholeness you lack for nothing and nothing else exist but that pure place. So let go of anything that causes your separation, all judgment, all ways in which you have ever judge yourself.
