Subject: “What Kind of Mind do You Want?”

Chief Bzutu: “… so the term ‘mind’ is used in an almost-endless list of circumstances. You are just one of many, many confused little puppies that talk about mind without really knowing your mind. Your Teacher is here and he is about to let you know what is on his mind. Later, my friend and co-worker.”

Samuel: “This is your Teacher Samuel and Teacher Aaron is within earshot also. We both say: ‘good day.’ And we know that you are ready to ‘take dictation.’ There are almost as many meanings for the word ‘mind’ as the Inuit has words for snow. You can mind a child and not at all mind its rowdy behavior, but be in two minds about what you will feed that darling for lunch. Put in another way: You can look after a child and not at all be bothered by its rowdy behavior, but be undecided about what you will feed the child at lunch-time.

“See? We have just used the word mind three times without actually touching on the (mind) endowment. And no, this is not the kind of mind we will be talking about — no. Today we are giving you a tentative glimpse — a mere peek — at the mind endowments created by Mother Spirit. They are almost innumerable; so many minds as there are. You have the human mind, provided to you by the Seven Adjutant Mind Spirits of Intuition, Understanding, Courage, Knowledge, Counsel, Worship and Wisdom.

“Your Secondary Midwayer friends, the next ‘step up in function’ from where you are, are gifted with the first and second aspects of the Morontia Mind. We go on from there. The Primary Midwayers have the basic Angelic Mind on top of their Morontia Mind and as well they can, and sometimes do, apply for the first aspect of the Morontia Mind. For Life Carriers, Melchizedeks, Archangels and all others, special minds are created. All in all, from human to Seraphim a detailed conversation can be had if all intermediaries are in place.

“Already have you learned that on Paradise, should you meet with the one you know as being ‘Without Name or Number,’ you will instantly acquire all the knowledge this great Friend has gained during all primitive evolutionary life and eternity. Whilst that is something to look forward to in your far-away future, you can be just a little less ambitious right now and request to earn the right to intermittant use of the Morontia Mind. Make this request of Christ Michael and earn the right by doing your regular meditation.

“Countless new abilities are within your reach, some of which are regular for Midwayers, even Angels and most of which are available by the grace of your ever-patient Spirit from God. It is important to know what kind of mind you want to possess and it is important to realize that in this mortal life you can reach far beyond the limitations of Intuition, Understanding, Courage, Knowledge, Counsel, Worship and Wisdom to ‘converse with’ the Angels. It may take some perseverance, but you will not be disappointed.”

God said:

Every Heavenletter is a beacon call to love. What else is there? In the process of reading and loving Heavenletters, you may find fame and fortune, yet fame and fortune are not what induce you to read Heavenletters. You may think you are seeking success. In that case, love itself is success -- love, not special love, just love on its own, the Beingness of Love.

Whatever you are thinking to gain or to give, your seeking may be wrapped or disguised in other terms. Nevertheless, it is love, pure and simple, that you are desirous of. What is money? Numbers, pieces of paper, tokens of sorts, and, oh, yes, an importance in the world equal to the size of your wallet. I am not opposed to money. There is certainly much love in making money and serving the common weal.

Yet love is something else. All love is directed to and from the Self, the One Self, the I of God from which you are not excepted.

Love is not a gushing well, nor is love forage for anything. Receiving love is a very good thing. Know you deserve it. Giving love is a very good thing. Know you have it to give. Unless you know you are full of love, you may be a hoarder of love and keep it hidden under your pillow. In terms of giving love, you may stint on giving it. You are stingy when you wait until you have more before you consider yourself worth enough to give.

If you are stingy, you stint on love to yourself. You do not acknowledge yourself. You deprive yourself of giving. Hoarding may look like you are respecting yourself, yet it is yourself you deprive. Under the cloak of proof, you forsake yourself. You forsake your truthful state. You pass yourself off for a penny’s worth instead of gold. You are the treasure you have ready to give. You may have been frozen in time and think you are to wait for more between your fingers before you can give with a full heart. In fact, giving will give you a full heart. How many roads in life you have misunderstood and misnamed that you already know about? And now you know another.

There is no waiting to make preparation or reparation any longer. There is no longer spending time in a waiting-room. You are already changed. Confess that you have grown out of your own reluctance. Confess. Give it up. See what you have been given, and then you can give without counting pennies or ounces. There are no limits except what you perceive and, therefore, you gauge yourself by the limits you see. You see constraints, and, therefore, you are constrained, forlorn and lovelorn, thinking you have to fake love, embroider it, keeping it aside for another circumstance or time. You know, dear children, love is affordable right now. To give love takes no effort, unless you are so rusty at it.

Come to My table, and We shall share Our abundance. We shall rescue the world from false limitation. In truth, all limitation is false. Anyone can give from the fruit of My vine. Come to My orchard, and there will be no relapses into penurious ways. The word tight need not apply to you. Do not apply the term to yourself. Heart of Gold is a better description of you. Creating something out of nothing is more descriptive of you. Giving the shirt off your back doesn’t mean much. Giving your heart means more. You don’t have to give the shirt off your back. You just do not have to wait until you can give, for you could wait and wait as you already may have waited for wealth and greater good fortune before you help others. What are you waiting for now?

The Spiritual Path
Youth is the best time, the most fitting time in a man's life, to devote himself to spiritual aspiration and sadhana (spiritual practice). The spiritual life is practical from beginning to end. The love for the ideal should be single-minded and whole-hearted.
The spiritual path is an unknown path which is as straight and narrow as a razor. On it there is no other light than that of faith and divine grace to guide the aspirant. There is no other sustenance than devotion.
The track ahead cannot be seen. The going is uncertain. And many pitfalls await the unwary. The traveller, the aspirant, must travel in the dark. He must march courageously forward. He will reach great illumination at the journey's end.
The spiritual path demands complete mastery over the flesh. Proceed gradually. Intensify the aspiration you have. Have a keen thirst for the realisation of the supreme. Keep alive thy aspiration, undiminished and bright. Be thou firm in thy faith.
Empty thy heart of all earthly things. The spiritual life is a life of child-like simplicity. What is needed in spiritual life is a sincere aspiration for the life of the spirit. It needs an earnest dedication to it. And it needs a whole-souled devotion and application to the realisation of the ideal. Your heart must be solely and entirely centred on God. It must be centred on God alone - deeply, passionately and steadily.
Be sincere to thy very core. This is the most essential thing. Spiritual life is based on the complete conquest of the lower nature. Upon this pedestal of perfect self-mastery and right conduct, the edifice of godliness and divine life may be built. May thy spiritual life and example inspire one and all.

Man wants a fuller life. He lives for a fuller life. That is life in eternal Brahman. Life is an endless series of awakenings. Understand life and the laws that govern it. Then you will lead a life of harmony and peace. Life holds the key. Unlock the mystery of your own being and attain life eternal.
