When Was Jesus Really Born?

[NOTE: This dialog is from an exchange I had with someone in response to their question about the actual date of Jesus’ birth.]

 

Question: One channel said Jesus was really born on April 17th, 6 BC. Could you please ask Mary for his birth date? We all want to know.

 

Mercedes: Mary’s information to me centers around our spiritual growth now, in this time and place. She generally only talks about her historical life with Yeshua if she feels it will serve our spiritual growth in some way. I wouldn’t feel comfortable asking her this question, because it wouldn’t feel respectful to me of the boundaries she has established with me about this. I hope you understand.

 

Questioner: No disrespect intended. I just thought that in heaven you have access to all knowledge. I thought if the people in heaven understood that so many of us here are seeking truth, they would understand that.

 

Mercedes: This is a complex issue. Here’s how I see it:

 

First, I think all channeled information is influenced by the person who is receiving the information (i.e. the channel). The clearer the person is, the less they influence the material coming through. But I think it happens to some extent with all channeled material.

 

Second, the beings who are being channeled aren’t necessarily omnipotent, or all-knowing. They are beings in higher phases of development than we are (hopefully!), but that doesn’t make them all equal in wisdom, nor does it necessarily make them omnipotent. They each have their point of view and reality that they are operating from, which may not necessarily be one that will serve us the most.

 

Because of both these factors—1) the influence of the person receiving the channeled message and 2) the range of possibilities relative to the being who is being channeled and what they represent—I recommend using discernment in deciding what portion, if any, of channeled information is valuable and useful for you, and let the rest go. It’s the same thing we all do when having a dialog or interchange with someone who is physically manifest in the 3D world. We may agree with some of their ideas or points of view and choose to let those in, while others we disagree with and choose not to let in.

 

How do we know if we agree with information being brought forth from a channeled being? Ask your higher self. See if the message or information resonates with your experience and your being. Notice whether you feel trust of the person who is bringing forth the information, or trust of the information itself. You have the ability to discern if that is your intention.

 

It’s also helpful to understand that different channels and different higher beings have different missions or life-paths. Not all beings are focused on bringing through information. Or they may be focused on bringing through a particular form of information but not other forms. Some beings choose not to focus on certain kinds of information, because they feel that distracts from what they want to focus on.

 

Finally, I believe the need for information in the form of facts and the “real” story is a particularly third-dimensional activity, which can actually be a block to spiritual growth. As we grow in our consciousness and grow into higher dimensions, we will see that there are many possible and coexisting realities and not just “one truth” or “one reality,” or even “one real way that things happened.”

 

We will see that reality, time, space, and the events within those are much more plastic, fluid, and changeable than most of us currently understand.

 

We will realize that reality is a reflection of our consciousness, rather than our consciousness reflecting reality. As we grow and change in consciousness, our reality will grow and change. This can include our reality of past and future.

 

Because of this, different beings who may seem to appear in the same place or time, may be experiencing very different realities because of the different consciousness they are coming from.

 

Higher beings understand all of this and thus tend to place much less importance on facts and information. They are more playful and light relative to how they see these realities, and not so attached or fixed relative to them. I believe that part of their service to us in helping us grow into higher consciousness is to help wean us of our dependence on mind and possessing information, so that we’re available to be drawn into higher states of beingness and connection with God.

God said: 

I speak in Silence. You understand this, don’t you? It is not even that I have a thought. I am Beyond Thought. Yet, you are meant to hear My Words that arise as if from a fountain. My love radiates. You would say My love vibrates energy. From this energy, those that feel the light tremor construe or translate My energy into thoughts. That’s how it is that I come across to you in language and even many various languages at one time. So, yes, I am an energy that vibrates. I vibrate love. I cannot help it. I am Love, and I do not argue with it. I do not fault it. I do not question it. I accept it.

You are of the same vibration, yet you question your capacity and think too much perhaps about repercussions and a chain of possibilities. Receive My love and allow My love to flow. It will envelop you. It will envelop the world. You will be inundated in My love, and you will flourish and grow in it.

It’s all here. All My love. It is yours. You cannot hoard it, however. You have all of it, yet it does not belong to you. You are a transmitter of My love. You are a teletype machine of My love. In that sense, you are the instrument through which My love passes. My love passes through you out to the world and everyone in the world whether they know it or not. There are no boundaries to My love that pass through you like rays of the sun. There is no down-side to My love, and there is no keeping it to yourself. You are not to sequester My love or file it or put it in a bank vault.

The love I give has to be passed on right away. My love is meant to be smooth-flowing, not held aside or stored for another day. There is plenty of My love for all. My love is not to be stored, for then it becomes a possession, and you may forsake your transmission of it.

My love, the love I give, has no demarcations. There is no fine print. No instructions come with My love except to follow My example and give it away. It doesn’t have to be earmarked. It just has to be sent on its way. Love is manna from Heaven. Love becomes stale unless it moves right along. You are a dispenser of My love, yet you are not the chooser of where My love goes, you understand. It is not your choice to set it aside or earmark it.

That does not mean that you fall all over trying to disseminate My love. No one has to stand in line or have a ticket to claim My love forwarded through you. There is no label that accompanies My love. Sender: God. Recipient: Everyone.

I hear you think: “Good old God knows what He is doing.”

I know what I am doing.

When you pick up words from Me, that is My love in words.

When I send you people, that is My love in people.

When I send you material gifts, that, too, is My love in material gifts.

The main thing is the Essence of My Love.

Here is what you have to know: Whether seen or heard or noticed or not, there is not one moment in which I am not sending all My love to you. I give you an Infinity of Love. I do not know how to give less. I couldn’t give you less love if I tried. There is no effort on My side. This is the natural flow of God and Nature. It is inevitable that My love will flow to you and so through you. You are a transmitter of My love. So transmit.

The Sage's View of the World 
The man who stands up to his neck in water has a twofold experience. His head is exposed to the sun. He experiences both heat and cold. Such is the experience of a liberated sage. He has double consciousness. He enjoys the bliss of Brahman, but also has the experience of this world. He is like a man who knows two languages.
Just as the pot in which asafoetida or onion is kept emits a certain amount of smell even when it is cleaned several times, so also, a small trace of ignorance still remains in the mind of a sage. The jivanmukta (liberated sage) has a consciousness of the body in the form of an impression in the subconscious mind. That is the reason why he eats and drinks. Though the instinctive mind with low desires is destroyed, the pure mind does not perish in the liberated sage. How will he be able to engage himself in worldly activity without an instrument, namely, the mind?
The phenomenal universe does not vanish from the vision of the liberated sage. He sees the world as a dream within himself. Just as the mirage appears even after the illusory nature of the water is understood, so also, the world appears for a jivanmukta even after he has attained Self-realisation, even after he has clearly understood the illusory nature of the world. But, just as the man who has understood the nature of the mirage will not run after the mirage for drinking water, so also, the sage who is liberated will not pursue sensual objects like the worldly-minded people - though the world appears to him. That is the difference between a worldly man and a liberated sage.
The jivanmukta beholds the one reality or God everywhere and in all things. For him there is no distinction between a rogue and a saint, gold and stone, honour and dishonour. He actually feels that all is himself only - that snakes, scorpions, tigers, bears and lions are as much part of himself as his own eyes, nose, ears, hands and feet. He is one with the flower, sun, ether, ocean, mountain and sky. He has cosmic vision and cosmic feelings.

A Difficult and Yet Optimistic First Quarter Moon


Sunday's First Quarter Moon traditionally represents a 'crisis in action,' when the impulse from the New Moon must confront impediments to achieving its ends. That is to say, all of us might run into obstacles that limit what we consider possible, as we strive to fulfill the deep soul desires represented by the extremely powerful and transformationally inclined Capricorn Solstice New Moon of one week past. It is interesting to note that the ruler of this New Moon, namely Saturn, has just crossed intoJupiter's sign of Sagittarius, and that this too has the effect of imposing the limitations of hard-and-fast practicality on the dreams and schemes for a better future floating through our heart space, and as well our thoughts inclined toward making a more significant contribution to an improved world situation. Equally, the positive Jupiter influence extending out toward this current positioning of Saturn might be able to pull this nuts and bolts thinking a few steps ahead of cynicism and despair, engendering that belief in Spirit implying that all things are indeed possible. It is a seeming paradox to go along with both of these viewpoints, and yet this is one way of viewing our present conundrum. As John Lennon said in a recently re-broadcast interview, and I am paraphrasing here, governments are mad, while the people really do have the power to change things, if they would only wake up to this simple and inescapable truth.

We can at any rate change things for ourselves, in our very own minds and hearts, and the astrological indications are in support of this ideal. Venus and Mercury are drawing nearer to their mutual entrance into the sign of Aquarius about a week away, when they will be conjunct and parallel in the sign that symbolizes the world coming together as one humanity, while expansive Jupiter remains in close trine with the powerful new planet, Eris, representing finding and acting on soul intention. This is a long-term transit that has existed all through December and goes on into the first two weeks of the New Year. It is significant as well that in the chart for New Year's Day, the start of the calendar year, Uranus and Pluto are once again emphasized, by theSun's conjunction with Pluto. We are therefore in for another year of transformational change, punctuated by the mid-March exact alignment of their storied square, that might yet have the ability to move society in a more positive direction by a process of tough love. Desperate times call for desperate measures; as a collective we certainly are getting to the point where in actuality something has got to give.

As we make the move that in our personal lives accords with our own necessary metamorphosis, we will want to recognize that now is the perfect time to set intention for that crucial difference that we know in our hearts is possible. In this quarter moon configuration, in fact, the Moon is parallel and in forming conjunction with trickster Uranus in Aries, providing surprises, and surprising enlightenment, helping to prepare the way for the remainder of our own intense journey of personal evolution that we have been involved with all this previous year. 

The Sabian Symbols for this First Quarter Moon are once again revealing. For the Moon, in the seventh degree of Aries, we have: "a man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once." This reminds us of the life of the Spirit, hidden deep within ourselves, in contrast with the surface forms provided by our personalities, which we must simultaneously uphold. Seminal 20th Century astrologer Dane Rudhyar comments "The primordial one-sidedness of emotional and cultural manifestation actually calls for the compensatory ability to operate at two levels. Thus the primary dualism of Sky and Earth, of the divine and the human, of spirit and matter." For the Sun, in the seventh degree of Capricorn, we find: "A veiled prophet of power." Marc Edmund Jones alludes to the implied leadership role in society, referring to "unerring insight into the motives of men [and women] and a consequent gift for organizing their efforts along any given line of accomplishment," and stating: "Here is an exaltation of the untapped resources inherent in all personality." Indeed we are each one of us that prophet, under the surface, and we must all begin to recognize in ourselves the force that can remove mountains, as required, in order to achieve necessary personal and cultural transformation.
