Heavenletter #5117 Kidnapped by Life , November 28, 2014

God said:

Who knows what the Truth of Life as lived in the world is about? Perhaps the best you can do at present is to flirt with life. You have not as yet come to the realization of life. You have guesses. In many cases, you run away from life. You are at a stand-off with it. You go your way, and life goes its way, and sometimes it seems that never the twain shall meet.

You have your ideas, and life has its ideas. At best, you are at a truce with life at the same time as you don’t trust it. You are wary of life, as if life is out to get you, set you back, have a sneak attack on you and take something precious away from you.

You may feel you hold on to life by a thread. You don’t know what traps life may have set for you. You simply do not know what will befall in life. You may be short of breath because you gasp at life and are concerned at what it has in store for you. You may even see life as an enemy ready to pull the carpet from under you. Life seems to work fast, a mile a minute.

In Truth, life holds you up. Yes, life takes you with it. It doesn’t give you a map. You are kidnapped by life, as it were. You are minding your own business, and life sweeps you up as the wind might sweep leaves, and leaves you somewhere else in a sudden new place or role in life. A tornado picks you up and throws you somewhere else.

It is so easy to think that life has made a mistake, perhaps mistaken you for someone else. Whether it is grief or glory that finds its way to you, you worry that life has made a mistake. In any case, from your point of view, life has no right to take you away just like that. You are content, sitting with your feet up. You are just getting used to life one way, and then life throws you a curve.

You may feel you are in an untenable position. Life holds you up in the air, suspended. You are just hovering with nothing fixed in space under you. This is how you may feel, that the carpet has been pulled from under you repeatedly, and here you are, an unwilling vagabond up a creek, not even with a knapsack to your name. You may feel that life is slippery, and that you are slipping through life’s fingers.

This is all imagined, of course. You may be terrified of life and its changeability. You simply don’t know what to make of it. It is ambivalent. One time life is kind, another time merciless. You feel you are at life’s mercy.

Sometimes it may feel to you that life hounds you, never lets you go, never lets you make your way, not very far anyway. And, then, when you see how far you have come and how much you have grown, life becomes a dream and not real at all, and, still, you flounder.

You may feel like a rose ready to blossom, and, just then, life puts a lid on you and cramps you or snips your stem, your very connection to Earth. Yet, of course, a rose is glad to be put in a glass or vase filled with water and to be adored. Roses are picked for a reason. They are hand-picked. They are chosen. They are not trampled. They are chosen for their beauty and grace, and, whatever you make think of it, so, beloveds, are you.

Michigan, US of A.
Teacher Ophelius.
Subject: “The Divine Partnership — Part One.”

Received by Chris Maurus.

Chris: “How do we know when the Indwelling Spirit (the Thought Adjuster or ‘TA’) is speaking to us, or through us, and under what conditions will this occur?

Ophelius: “Dear One, this is Ophelius. This is a question that is asked by many and it is a valid question because those who have moved beyond mere curiosity and have a real desire to make contact with their God Fragments are making the most important decision they can make — to have an intimate relationship with deity.

“Many are seeking indicators and instruction because they believe it has occurred or will occur when they sincerely create the conditions necessary for this kind of divine communication.

“Now, I will speak frankly to those who I consider ‘students on the path,’ meaning those individuals who are spiritual (becoming aware) and who are not resisting the leading of the TA. It is a rare occurrence when an individual from your planet consciously becomes aware that they are hearing their TA — many do indeed hear, yet they are not aware. This is because of the tight integration between the mind and the TA. However, I will say that in this Correcting Time, the Universal Father’s direct influence through the Divine Fragments is necessary to move the planet on a path toward light and life and more of His children are becoming aware of His voice and influence through the TA.

“Like any important relationship, communication is vital to strengthen the intimacy between the two. To develop this awareness, you will want to become an ‘active partner,’ meaning you ‘allow’ this divine partner to be involved in all your inner thoughts and inner dialog. You must create a conscious space for the presence of the TA to ‘sit,’ even if you do not feel it — by faith, you will acknowledge the Indwelling Presence like an intimate friend who loves you unconditionally. Please understand that this is unconditional acceptance of who you are and that all thoughts can be shared regardless of the subject matter. The TA chose to indwell you and knows everything about you — how you think and act; what beliefs you have; and He or She is aware of all your imperfections and shortcomings. There is no need to try to hide your most intimate thoughts or embarrassing moments — the TA knows all about it, so begin to bring the TA into all your intimate inner dialog. This is how you build a relationship — trust is vital to your success.

“Fact: The TA has been present with you since your first moral decision usually just prior to your sixth birthday and so it is time for you to acknowledge this ‘old friend’ and bring Him or Her into your ‘inner sanctum’ and everyday life.

Chris: “I actually do feel this partnership now — all my inner dialog, my deep thoughts, my spiritual instructions to others has this partnership integration and ‘voice’ that is my own, yet is coming from this much deeper place and presence that I feel is within me, yet the demarcation between me and my TA is blurred — the voice is a ‘harmony.’ It is difficult to explain in words.

Ophelius: “Yes, exactly, this is why in so many of the messages you receive there is always an emphasis on acknowledging the presence of the TA. When you develop this relationship to the point where you are constantly ‘checking in’ with the TA, you begin to feel this partnership. Training your mind to acknowledge the partnership is vital to giving the TA more ‘allowance’ to work in your mind and become more integrated. This world — in this Correcting Time — needs individuals who will ‘allow’ this partnership to flourish so that the Father’s Will can be worked through the individual to help move this world toward healing, light and life.

“It is not so important that you know of the ‘distinction’ between you and your TA, but rather that you acknowledge the partnership and feel the ‘harmony.’

“Peace to you,
“The Circle of Seven.”

What to Renounce
Mere outward giving up of things is nothing. It is not real renunciation. Real tyaga or sanyas (renunciation) consists in absolute renunciation of all vasanas (tendencies) and the destruction of the heart-knot of ignorance, the chit-jada-granthi (confusion between the conscious subject and inert object).
What is to be renounced is the bheda buddhi (divisive intellect) which says, "I am superior to that man." "I am the body." And the kartrtva abhimana which thinks, "I am the doer". There is no use in your renouncing your home, wife and children. You must destroy moha (attachment) for the body, children, money, house, property - then you will get that state of immortality from which you will never return.
He who has merely withdrawn himself from worldly possessions, cannot be regarded as having renounced the world altogether; but he who is living in actual contact with the world, finds out its faults. He who is freed from every passion and whose soul depends on nothing may be said to have truly renounced the world. Read the story of Raja Sikhidhwaja and Queen Chudala in the Yoga Vasishta.
The spirit cometh and goeth. Therefore you will have to be careful always in nourishing and protecting your spiritual samskaras (impressions) with burning vairagya (dispassion), intense and constant sadhana (practice) and burning mumukshutva (desire for liberation). Increase your good samskaras. Develop them. Multiply them.
People do not want to remove mala (impurity) by selfless service and vikshepa (restlessness of mind) with upasana (devotion). They think that bhakti and service are nothing. They at once jump to open the kundalini and raise the brahmakara-vritti (the feeling of Brahmin is the all). They will only break down their legs.
Serve and worship; jnana and yoga will come by themselves; kundalini will be awakened by itself.

The World Needs Sannyasins
Every religion has a band of anchorites who lead a life of seclusion and meditation. There are bhikkus in Buddhism, fakirs in Islam, sufistic fakirs in Sufism, fathers and brothers in Christianity. The glory of a religion will be absolutely lost if you remove the hermits or sannyasins or those who lead the life of renunciation and divine contemplation. It is these people who maintain and preserve the religions of the world. It is these people who give solace to the householders when they are in trouble and distress. They bring hope to the hopeless, joy to the depressed, strength to the weak and courage to the timid by imparting the knowledge of yoga and vedanta, and the significance of, "That thou art".
True renunciation is the renunciation of all passions, desires and egoism. If you have a stainless mind, a mind free from attachment, egoism and passion, you are a sannyasin - no matter whether you live in a forest or in the bustle of a city, whether you wear white cloth or an orange coloured robe, whether you shave your head or keep a long tuft of hair.
Shave the mind. Someone asked Guru Nanak, "O saint, why have you not shaved your head? You are a sanyasin." Guru Nanak replied: "My dear friend, I have shaved my mind." In fact, the mind should be cleanly shaved. Shaving the mind consists of getting rid of all attachments, egoism, infatuation, lust, greed and anger. That is real shaving. External shaving of the head has no meaning so long as there is internal craving.
Many have not understood what true renunciation is. Renunciation of physical objects is no renunciation at all. True renunciation lies in the abnegation of the mind. It consists of renouncing all desires and egoism, and not world-existence. The real renunciation is the renunciation of the ego. If you can renounce this, you have renounced everything in the world. If the subtle egoism is given up, identification with the body goes away automatically.

The Evolutionary Drama of the First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter Moon of late Thursday night or early Friday morning, depending on time zone, represents an extremely interesting point in the development of the lunation cycle that began a week past and extends into the first three weeks of December. The Moon in this configuration closely connects toNeptune, also Chiron, being a little more than two degrees away from Neptune and in conjunction with their midpoint. This lends a spiritual, idealized and somewhat otherworldly air to the current proceedings. We find that we know more about what we are up to on an instinctual level than we do consciously. Then, too, Uranus and Pluto, in their forming square, are also still very much emphasized by this quarter moon. Because the New Moon itself triggered all three outer planets, this is a very special end-of-year time. As we head into the remainder of this intense cycle, we therefore reach out for a significant new stage in the arc of the individual curve of our own evolutionary growth.

That development, we can understand, must include fundamental change, the hallmark of this Uranus-Plutointersection. These outer planets in combination represent a powerful revolutionary impulse that throws off established ways that have become outmoded and are no longer viable, both in terms of personal development, and for the society itself. The ferment of the sixties, when they were in conjunction with each other, is the most recent example. For the past several years now, or to be more specific since about 2010, you have been confronted with an inner struggle to transform and grow — in accordance with what you know you need to do from the standpoint of evolutionary necessity — and this comes from your intuitional depths, as signaled by the current Neptune influence. This is basic; in that certain things were left undone in the course of your maturation, and these now need to be fulfilled. It is difficult and painful to leave some part of the past behind, forever, and yet it is comforting to come to the inescapable recognition that those things that you must change, and change radically, while different for each one of us, stem from your own deeper knowing that is sure, ultimately coming from inside.

Besides the cosmic pressure to evolve that is expressed by Uranus and Pluto in their historic square, we find this month in particular that Jupiter and Eris remain in close trine formation all month long, since Jupiter is standing almost dead still in the sky right now, while Eris moves extremely slowly. Their combination symbolizes positive soul intention coming strongly to the fore, especially as they remain in partile trine, in the very same degree of compatible Fire signs, for the entire remainder of November and almost all of December, through the Winter Solstice of the 21st. Additionally, Venus is moving to form a grand trine withJupiter and Eris during the first few days of December, to be followed by Mercury and the Sun. We are heading for a very powerful mid-month and Winter Solstice. We know what we have to do. The only question is in doing it.

The Sabian symbols for this Quarter Moon are illuminating. They are, for the Moon, in the 8th degree ofPisces, near Neptune, "A girl, blowing a bugle," which we can interpret, noting that Jung termed the soul as a feminine concept he called the anima, as that clarion call that arises out of the depths of our soul-level intuitional awareness. For the Sun, in the 8th degree of Sagittarius, we find: "Deep within the earth, new elements are being formed," for which Marc Edmund Jones adds that "this is a symbol of the necessity that man [or woman] create his [or her] own reality out of the actual situations in which [they] are involved — the matrix of everyday existence — ... [utilizing] an exceptional ability to mold or remold the course of events." This is thus a fitting symbol for our work in reconstituting the very fabric of our lives in response to the evolutionary impulse that drives us. We can recognize as well that the cosmos is truly on our side; so that when we approach this task with absolute sincerity, our success is assured.

Heavenletter #5116 Joseph’s Good Fortune , November 27, 2014

God said:

For those of My children who struggle, can you not do as you do without the struggling part? What is struggle? It is trying too hard. Do as you do and release trying so hard, and you will not be struggling.

Of course, there is struggling and struggling just the way there is trouble and trouble. A broken fingernail can be trouble. Not getting a good mark on a test can be trouble. Having a car accident is another breed of trouble.

How related is trouble to worrying? You decide something is trouble, and perhaps you add an overtone of stormy weather. The world does not turn dark because you are anxious, yet you see it that way.

You live in what is called the relative world, and relative means that everything is by comparison. What if you didn’t compare? Then, worry would leave, trouble would not claim ownership. If you could know ahead of time that all that occurs doesn’t really matter, that what occurs occurs, what doesn’t occur doesn’t occur, and that all is well regardless of anything in the world of up’s and down’s. In that case, what would you identify as trouble and struggle? What would you refuse to admit to the entrance of your life when it has already barged in? What would you kick away?

What would you dismiss when you do not as yet know where it is taking you?

In one sense, there are no accidents. Then, if that is the case, everything is predetermined. In another sense, even that which seems to be predetermined can be your Free Will. It is not so easy to call the shots.

Which one of My children knows what is providential? Which one of My children knows what is his good fortune? May I become Biblical for a moment? What a terrible deed when Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, yet, look what good fortune it turned out to be for Joseph and the world. This is a story in many forms that happens every day. Something that befalls that you resist turns out to be propitious. By the same token, something that you welcome may turn out to carry dismay or perhaps what you perceive as disaster with it.

The importance of good attitude has been talked about. Some might mock optimism in the face of the unwelcome, yet which of My children has the key to an outcome? All the signs can read one way, and yet the denouement is another. What is the bright side to pessimism? Is there one? What is pessimism worth? Does it have a value? All I can see to pessimism that is positive is that you can then smack your thigh and say you were right, that you knew all along that no good would come from something.

If you want to be prophetic, be prophetic on the sunny side. Be mistaken if you have to be. So what? Err on the side of good news, beloveds. It’s worth it to stave off disappointment until the end, and, even then, you don’t know that the story is over.

Lean toward the idea that nothing is wasted. Doesn’t science say something like that? Do not think that receptivity is wasted. Do not think that welcoming life is wasted. Do not think that loving life is wasted. What occurs in life is what occurs in life. Your outer life is by far not the whole story. There is a stream of life that runs in an unseen stream. The world can call you a wastrel if it likes, yet the world does not know all that much. In My realm, you could be a hero. You yourself don’t even know all that you are doing for the world. How, then, could anybody else know what to tag you?

In the world, there is assuming and presuming. All the while, there is a basis that the world does not see very well. It is not for you to underestimate your purpose in the world and the quality of your life nor to underestimate anyone else’s purpose or quality of life.

Mushrooms prevent Breast Cancer

Mushrooms Enhance Immune Function and Protect Against Cancer

Mushrooms support the immune system
Mushrooms contain specialized lectins (ABL) that recognize cancer cells, and prevent the cells from growing and dividing.1,2 Mushroom phytochemicals enhance the activity of natural killer cells, which are specialized immune cells that attack and destroy virus-infected and cancerous cells.3

Mushrooms are unique in their breast cancer preventing (anti-aromatase) effects
Frequent consumption of mushrooms (approximately 1 button mushroom per day) has been shown to decrease the risk of breast cancer by 64%.4 Mushrooms are thought to protect against breast cancer particularly because they inhibit an enzyme called aromatase, which produces estrogen. Mushrooms are one of the very few foods that inhibit aromatase (pomegranate is another), and several varieties of mushrooms, especially the commonly eaten white button and portobello mushrooms, have strong anti-aromatase activity.5

Mushrooms protect against all cancers
Consumption of mushrooms does not only protect against breast cancer. In addition to anti-aromatase activity, white, cremini, portobello, oyster, maitake, and reishi mushrooms have all been shown to have a wide variety of anti-cancer properties. These effects have been studied in relation to stomach, colorectal, breast, and prostate cancers.6-14

Mushrooms add unique flavors and textures to vegetable dishes, and are delicious paired with fresh herbs. Combining mushrooms with the onion family, green and cruciferous vegetables, and beans, creates delicious, healthful, and powerfully protective meals. Remember that mushrooms should only be eaten cooked: several raw culinary mushrooms contain a potentially carcinogenic substance called agaritine, and cooking mushrooms significantly reduces their agaritine content.15,16
