14 November Posted: 12 Nov 2014 10:00 PM PST Uphill Task True freedom results from the disenthralment of the mind. He is a real potentate and ruler who
has conquered the mind. He who has conquered desires, passions and the mind is the richest man. If the mind is under control,
it matters little whether you stay in a palace or a cave in the Himalayas; whether you engage yourself in worldly activity
or sit in silence. The mind can be controlled by untiring perseverance and great patience, equal to that of one engaged in
emptying the ocean, drop by drop, with the tip of a blade of grass. To tame a lion or a tiger is far more easy than taming
one's own mind. Tame your own mind first. Then you can tame the minds of others quite easily. Constantly think of God. You can very easily control the mind.
Constant thinking of God thins out the mind. The mind can very easily think of worldly objects. It is its nature. The mental
force can easily flow in the old grooves and avenues of mundane thoughts. It finds it extremely hard to think of God and dwell
on lofty thoughts. The difficulty
in weaning the mind from objects and fixing it on God is the same as in making the river Ganges flow uphill towards its source
instead of its natural flow towards the ocean. Still, through strenuous efforts and renunciation, the mind must be trained
to flow towards God, much against its will, if you want to free yourself from birth and death. There is no other way if you
want to escape from worldly miseries and tribulations. Introspect and always have an inner life. Let a portion of the mind and the hands do their work mechanically. A girl
acrobat, while exhibiting her performances, has her attention riveted on the water-pot she bears on her head, although, all
the time, she is dancing to various tunes. So does the truly pious man attend to all his business concerns, but has his mind's
eye fixed upon the blissful feet of the Lord. This is balance and will lead to integral development. |

Illawarra District, Australia. Midwayer
Chief Bzutu (ABC-22). Subject: “What Constitutes a Dispensation.”
Received by George Barnard.
Bzutu: “I am here, a Midwayer Chief, vastly under-utilized by a friend of some 70
years. This is ABC-22, cordially invited here to lecture about dispensations. Take our dictation now.
“What
is a dispensation? A dispensation — in the spiritual sense — is a period of time during which certain celestial
rules do or do not apply, or they simply vary. These rules, for example, may be of a progressive nature in that many sleeping
survivors may be awakened to commence their Mansion world careers. The lengthy isolation, initiated because of the Lucifer
Rebellion, was very limiting. Communication lines were cut. The planet was isolated. The spiritual economy of Urantia was
in a deep depression and sinking further.
“Fortunately, such
dreaded system-wide periods are rare. The more regular, positive dispensations, so we are taught, tend to include just one
or two new regulations that award citizens for the progress they have made as a world population, and these dispensations
can last for centuries. Here I need to make clear that a dispensation might only apply to one or a few individuals —
and for a short time. The present dispensation, however, is a very special one. Call it the Dispensation of the Correcting
Time. It is much a departure from the normal.
“The dispensation’s
important trigger was the approaching adjudication of the Lucifer Rebellion, but long before that the rehabilitation of rebel
midwayers and angels had begun. As well, the incarnation of a Magisterial Son had been planned and yet this event is still
some time off. Can you see where I’m going with this? You can! There is no particular date or time at which this unique
and special dispensation was either begun or will be completely established, as you may call the process of its being fully
realized.
“Consider now the decades-long preparations of the
celestial Teachers and the fact that the Paradise citizen, Monjoronson, has not yet appeared. This Correcting Time dispensation,
whose beginning is now stretched out for over more than 200 years is coming together like the “whatever-it-takes”
mandate Michael decided it would be and as the Father Creator endorsed it. The Lucifer Rebellion adjudication finally out
of the way, the long-neglected planet Urantia had to be rescued, whatever effort it would take.
“You
saw the influx of thousands of “alien” midwayers, spiritual groups such as the Teaching Mission, as well as your
own 11:11 Progress
group. You witnessed the publication of the Urantia Papers, their contents worked on for many decades and you witnessed the
celebration of Machiventa’s promotion to Urantia Planetary Prince in his very own right, succeeding the Creator Son
Himself. And even now, I assure you, the individual dispensations are not all done. More decisions will be made to turn the
Correcting Time into a success.
“Whatever it takes, our human
friend, it will surely be given to our unusual world until Correcting Time gains will have readied us all to make this a shiny
new place of Light and Life.
“This is Bzutu and Sharmon leaving
you both our love. Goodnight.” © The 11:11 Progress Group. You lit a Flame, and it will become
a Raging Fire — ABC-22. |

Heavenletter #5102 When You Miss a Train, Catch Another, November 13, 2014 God
said: Unto everything there is a solution.
This doesn’t mean you have to be the solver. You do not have to wrack your brains for the solution. The solution is
inherent in that which you see as a difficulty. With or without you, a solution appears. You may have only to nod your head.
You don’t have to pounce on a solution. Odds are, there is more than one solution. Perhaps you have only to allow a
solution. This does not mean that every solution is the one you would like to claim. You can desire
a certain outcome, yet another outcome prevails. You are the one who decides that an outcome is good or bad. You do not know
what life holds in store for you. An unwelcome outcome may turn into a treasure. The outcome you so fervently desire might
not serve you well. Think not so much about right and wrong. So, with life, sometimes it is hands off. You don’t
have to win, as you see winning. Life has its own ideas. Sometimes you have to bow to life. Would life be so hard if you didn’t
believe you have to fight it so much? You don’t have to resist life as much as you seem to think. Life is not such a
problem as you may think it is. Yes, desire, yet don’t always boss life around. Admit. You simply don’t
know enough. You do not see that far ahead. The past is not to tell your fortune. Don’t go by it. We can say that from
your view, life is a gamble. Indeed! If gambles were sure things, everyone would be wealthy. How much and for how long can
you dispute life? Life will have its say. There is also something to be said for never giving up. If you are
an inventor, keep inventing. This is within your power. To keep on experimenting is within your realm. Outcomes are not always
what you desire. Who said that outcomes have to be what your heart desires? How do you even know when it’s absolutely
your heart or it is your ego at play? Sometimes My children fight tooth and nail after the deed is done. The
theme becomes: “This should not have happened.” Yet it did. There are times to let go. Sometimes letting go allows
the very thing you desire to appear. This can happen too. If you have missed a train, beloveds, there is nothing to do but
let go of it. Catch another train. You can give something all you’ve got, and even so, sometimes you have to let it
go and not chase it. Life is more about going for your desires than it is accomplishing them. A path does not
have to lead you where you want. You don’t know where something may lead. You don’t have to know. Life is an ongoing
activity. Loose your hold, and keep going. There is always opportunity. There are not usually foregone conclusions. Life
is about finding out. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Play the cards as they are handed to you. Sometimes, not always, you
simply have to throw in your cards and walk away. This is part of the game. And sometimes you stay your hand. Your
life is not predicated on winning. Consider everything that befalls as a win. Consider the fact that you go for something
as a win. Defeat is not the conclusion of you. Not winning does not mean losing. What occurs in life or does not occur in
life is not the summation of you. It is not the last word. There is nothing you have to prove. Look, enjoy the
trip. Be glad you have life and all the choices life brings. There is nothing to lose. Losing is an idea. Let go of that idea. Take
on the idea that, with or without the results you seek, you are doing just fine.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Canadian Society of Pediatrics state
infants aged 0-2 years should not have any exposure to technology, 3-5 years be restricted to one hour per day, and 6-18 years
restricted to 2 hours per day (AAP 2001/13, CPS 2010). Children and youth use 4-5 times the recommended amount of technology,
with serious and often life threatening consequences (Kaiser Foundation 2010, Active Healthy Kids Canada 2012). Handheld devices
(cell phones, tablets, electronic games) have dramatically increased the accessibility and usage of technology, especially
by very young children (Common Sense Media, 2013). As a pediatric occupational therapist, I'm calling on parents, teachers
and governments to ban the use of all handheld devices for children under the age of 12 years. Following are 10 research-based
reasons for this ban. Please visit zonein.ca to view the Zone'in Fact Sheet for referenced research. 1. Rapid brain growth Between 0 and 2 years, infant's
brains triple in size, and continue in a state of rapid development to 21 years of age (Christakis 2011). Early brain development
is determined by environmental stimuli, or lack thereof. Stimulation to a developing brain caused by overexposure to technologies
(cell phones, internet, iPads, TV), has been shown to be associated with executive functioning and attention deficit, cognitive
delays, impaired learning, increased impulsivity and decreased ability to self-regulate, e.g. tantrums (Small 2008, Pagini
2010). 5. Mental Illness Technology
overuse is implicated as a causal factor in rising rates of child depression, anxiety, attachment disorder, attention deficit,
autism, bipolar disorder, psychosis and problematic child behavior (Bristol University 2010, Mentzoni 2011, Shin 2011, Liberatore
2011, Robinson 2008). One in six Canadian children have a diagnosed mental illness, many of whom are on dangerous psychotropic
medication (Waddell 2007).
