Our Soul Age

Soul Age

As we reincarnate from lifetime to lifetime on our soul's path -- gathering experiences, learning lessons, and fulfilling agreements -- an evolutionary process transpires and that course of development is called Soul Age

Soul age refers to how a person has grown from experience on the planet, not just to how many lifetimes he or she has lived. No person is "ahead" or "behind" any other, but is simply occupying another place in the continuous circle leading to and from the Tao.

There are five soul ages to progress through during our cycle of incarnations on the physical plane. Each stage is a mark of our soul's evolution.

  • Infant souls deal with issues of survival; they do not yet have a basis for making sense of what is “out there”—they only know that it is “not me.”

  • Baby souls have a need for structure and tend to live according to beliefs based on dogma, such as religion. Baby souls, focused as they are on bringing people together under the umbrella of civilization, see others, sometimes simplistically, as being “just like me.” They can become confused and upset when those “other me’s” act differently than expected.

  • Young souls are success oriented and set high standards of personal achievement. Young souls are learning to impact the world, and see others as “you”s they can impact.

  • Mature souls are relationship fixated and tend to gravitate towards emotional drama. Mature souls, delving into their inner world and exploring relatedness, can keenly feel other people’s “stuff,” and perceive it in the same way they perceive their own. This can make for much intensity and, often, subjectivity.

  • Old souls seek the larger perspective of life, and have less interest in playing the material game. They tend to be more detached, and try to see themselves and others within a larger context.

Yarbro gave mottos for each of the soul ages:

  • Infant: Lets not do it.

  • Baby: Do it right or don't do it at all.

  • Young: Do it my way.

  • Mature: Do it anyplace but here.

  • Old: You do what you want and I'll do what I want.

But anyway, to make it brief and straight to the point: is there a way for an incarnate being to gain access to this telepathic and omniscient "life field" and of course, the "source" directly? Is there a way through meditation, contemplation and control of one's mental and bodily processes, that one can expand intellectually and spiritually without being bound? Being a mind that is stuck in a physical form is not very pleasant. Thanks!

While I am pretty open to all forms of knowledge, be in scientific or not, it is worth noting that I came to this website only by chance under the watchful eye of skepticism. I am not imprecating anyone, but should this website turn out to one that disseminates false information, instead of the truth, let it be known that the spreading of such information to inhibit or curtail the growth of other individuals is regarded as the greatest moral infraction of all time by me. I bring no offense; I hope this is all true and I appreciate this website's owner's desire to help others, but please excuse the slight tone of skepticism in me, as I just wish to preserve and uphold objectivity.

Since I am under the veil of pseudonymy, I can divulge a bit more detail about myself without fear of revealing my identity, and that is the fact that I feel quite "isolated" in the sense that I have always had this strange sensation of not belonging to this planet, and that there is this very urgent need to reach a state of higher spiritual growth that seems intangible and impossible to attain for him at this point of time due to the inhibitions of the human body. I am what most people who call "intellectual" and "sagacious" but "neutral" and "detached", but the degree of my intellectual development seems very disparate as compared to hmmm, in all honesty ... I have yet to see someone in person with the same level of development. I do not wish to disclose such things since I wish to abide by humility. However, at this point of time, it seems like I have hit a deadend whereby the capacity to grow becomes exceedingly residual and merely quantitative instead of qualitative, and it is hoped that someone who is an expert in such issues can respond to my message.

I am currently 22, and it was only quite recently that I have stagnated more or less at Old age level 7. If it helps to disclose some more personal information, I will just generically mention that I am an extremely introverted and detached individual who seeks solace and tranquility within myself, while knowledge, wisdom, creativity (in the "broadest" sense), freedom (in a "positive" sense), ego-transcendence and the utmost desire to reach a state of pure contemplation, understanding, creation and consciousness is of tremendous importance to me, in ascending order.

This is very fascinating. Behavioristically, it seems like temporally, I have experienced every single "phase" of this so-called "growth" chart in the exact numerical order of the chart. This puzzle poses the most interest to me as to how a person in one particular life-time (mine at this point of time) can experience all simultaneously, but linearly and longitudinally across time. What I am trying to say is that I simply cannot tell the difference between strict temporal and orderly manifestation of a sequence of soul ages, and the "actual soul age" itself. I normally adhere to the strict rule of neutrality and a perspective of observation, but this itself requires an explanation that my curiosity is unable to hold back. Just what exactly seems to be going on?

can an older soul be a strict rationalist? if, for example, a theoretical cosmologist understands and appreciates that all complex matter in existance is mere exploded stardust, a newborn is just a reconfiguration and recycling of the same energy and matter, the perception leads to the same ends, no? that is the consciousness needs not to accept dogmas to understand and learn real unity and onesness, it can rely on reason alone.

I posted a message on here awhile back asking others to hazard a guess as to my soul age (a serious inquiry), but my message never showed up.  Is the webmaster or someone else making decisions about what posts to allow?

I just checked and you posted that message on the Nine Needs page, which is not the best place to receive responses about soul age. Regarding your post, it's really difficult to access soul age from just a brief description about yourself. There are so many factors that play into such things, and opinions from others that don't know you will never be definitive.

I would believe nobody who estimates my soul age on the basis of bare descriptions. Just older souls very often do not manifest her real soul age. My crassest case is my mother who is a Mature5 soul, but sticks in a baby soul aspect! If I should have estimated her due personal behaviors, I would have tapped certainly on a child soul...

Michael has said that infant (or new souls) are no longer allowed to incarnate on our planet, so I suspect you're older than you think.

If a soul age was 11 cycles, what would the soul age be? That confuses me.

Since each new cycle represents another cycle of soul ages to repeat, it's impossible to say. You could, in effect, be an infant soul with 13 previous cycles under your belt and be fairly sophisticated from that experience, despite the early soul age.

To the Webmaster

I'd be interested to hear your opinion on conspiracy theories; paticulary, the ones about our sense of reality being metaphysically manipulated by malevolent interdimensional entities (reptillian). Is human history summed up merely by a gradual shift (wave) from the predomination of primitive infant souls to that of other-worldly old souls and beyond (an obvious dynamic that I totally agree with), or has there also been some external influence on human civilization and society e.g extraterrestrials, interdimensionals? Sources such as David Icke and The Emerald Tablets, tell of highly advanced beings-- some malevolent, some benevolent-- interacting with and dwelling among human beings; the benevolent offering knowledge and wisdom, leading humans to great heights, while the malevolent prey on and enslave humans in various forms and on different levels.

This is THE hot topic, nowadays, in the spiritual community and I think it would be greatly appreciated if you could, even slightly, touch on that subject.

it has been said that the conspiracy theory market in general is a baby soul phenomenon. Born and Breed from naivety and a tendancy for unquestioned external authority and internal confusion.

Hmm... If trusting 'unquestioned external authority' is a factor of a baby soul, then most of America must be baby souls, because the U.S. remains incredibly unwilling to see the darker underside of things.  There are indeed plenty of concurring tales of reptilian beings, told across different cultures; concurring tales of hidden bases, the size of cities, under this country, jointly run by aliens and humans, with money from a huge black budget.  There are endless tales of people in positions of some influence who, upon getting close to the truth, somehow 'commit suicide,' die in a car/plane crash, or have hear attacks.  I could go on and on with other black-ops stories, but anyone can find myriad online and evaluate them for himself.

It is more accurate to say that it is the tendency toward intellectual arrogance (such as yours) and unwillingness to believe that such darkness can exist, that is the U.S's downfall. People can hardly conceive of such things as incest, yet every day, thousands of young children are abused by their fathers, uncles, etc.  Can you imagine if you told people that the thousands of children and adults that go missing every year could possibly be being used for ...ritual torture? or experiments in underground bases?  They won't believe it.  Darkness counts on this arrogance and naivety, and continues undetected because of it.

Although interesting, conspiracy theories are generally outside the scope of this site. And even if I wanted, I wouldn't have the time to keep up with them.
